Hotel Macondo Holbox

First note! The staff are 100% amazing, kind and friendly. We took room 10, this is located on the lower level at the end of the walkway. It was fortunate that with this location we didn't have passing guest traffic walking past our room, so we felt like we were in a private area. The staff area was very close to us but we really didn't mind because we didn't meet a staff person we didn't like. The rooms are cleaned daily to a high standard, with coffee left for the morning pot. We had to go buy water to make the coffee, but the tienda was not too far away to buy supplies. The location could not be more amazing, only half a block to the beach, we could see the ocean when we stepped out from the lobby. I must mention, this hotel is located very close to town, and is immediately in front of a hostel with a bar (located on the next street), the bar had music every night until midnight or just after. At the weekend the hotel is very full and noisy...why, because the stairs to go up to the higher rooms are directly behind Room 10. We could hear very loudly the transition of other guests and kids going up and down the stairs, sometimes for hours! The room above us, Number 11, was noisy, two times we had to request they stop walking and walking and walking across their room and moving furniture. the noise from this was incredible. Also, if you are allergic to pets this place is pet friendly. A room close to us had three large dogs staying with their owners, they left them alone at night to bark in the room until they returned. The hotel only has one hairdryer to share will all the guests, so it has to be returned to the front desk after use. Clothes quickly got damp and did not dry very fast, not at all in the room, we put some things outside to dry but they did not dry completely. Overall, our stay was good, we were located close to all we needed in Holbox, the only issue was the noise, and music from neighbors and other guests. Note: there is a lot of walking in Holbox on uneven streets and sidewalks, we constantly saw people walking to different areas of the beaches to the East and the West, honestly I got a little tired of the walking and the uneven streets. Don't wear shoes you value they will be destroyed walking around. Strong flip flops or sandals are advisable.

ES UNA ESTAFA Buenas tardes hicimos una reserva que estaba pagada con 15 días de antelación, al llegar al alojamiento reservado, ( se pusieron previamente en contacto por washap diciéndonos la dirección donde teníamos que acudir y lo tenemos todo documentado ) llegamos y nos dimos cuenta que no es el mismo alojamiento que reservamos, ya que donde te citan que es otro de su misma cadena vale casi 3 veces menos. Quisieron darnos a entender que el otro hotel estaba fuera de servicio con una planta inundada y de ahí la reubicación, MENTIRA ya que fuimos hablar con la gerente al hotel donde SI realizamos la reserva, de manera indiferente nos atendió y sin darnos ninguna soluciónclara, ya que la única que ofreció era quedarnos en el otro hotel, dijo que no podía hacer nada debido a que la culpa es de Booking. Conclusión a las 10 de la noche en la calle sin hotel siendo nuestra luna de miel y estando reservado con bastante antelación. Solicitamos el reembolso y poder poner una queja formal, ya que están estafando a muchos clientes los cuales también estaban quejándose, ya están las agencias avisadas para que ningún turista Español vuelva a pasar por lo mismo.

- La habitación tiene un olor a humedad impresionante - La atención fue muy mala e irrespetuosa, nos quisieron cobrar de más por un tour. - El colchón de la habitación hundido y las almohadas muy malas. Se nota que no cambian la blanqueria hace rato. - De cinco lámparas de luz, funcionaba una sola y nos dijeron que no nos podían solucionar el problema -El aire acondicionado no enfriaba. - No contaba con secador de pelo (qué es un detalle mínimo) con respecto a lo demás. No recomiendo para nada este hotel, no vale el precio que publican
