We stayed at the Hotel Mawimbi for a pre-holiday break and would totally recommend it. Marcia arranged our transfer from Cancun smoothly and we arrived in time for dinner, our table on the beach just steps away from the waves. Our Junior Suite was simple but elegant and designed in local style with really comfortable furniture and a dual aspect balcony with couch and hammock. Our hardworking housekeeping crew kept Rooms and public spaces spotless while the wonderful beach club staff kept us fed and happy with an endless supply of snacks, elegant dinners under the palms and delicious cocktails. Hotel Mawimbi is the loveliest location on Holbox Beach and we found it the perfect paradise to recharge and relax in beautiful surroundings.

We have been traveling to Holbox for about 16 years. We always stay at Mawimbi. I refer to it truthfully as “My favorite place on Earth.” The atmosphere is so outstanding that there is no other place to compare. If you are looking for a calm, relaxing place to unplug or a romantic retreat, Mawimbi is the place. It is small enough that you get to know your servers and all the staff. You become part of a family. To me it is an oasis in the middle of a hectic world. The food is awesome. The drinks are as well! Have a massage on the beach. Lounge in a hammock or a swinging bed. Large comfy lounges for sunning. Fantastic on-site owners that will assure you are pleased. I could go on and on but it is so unique that you will not believe me until you go for yourself! I have met people there from all over the world and I have never heard a negative comment about Mawimbi. Those there for their first visit are in awe!!

Honestly this is one of the best hotels we ever stayed in. First and foremost, the amazing and friendly staff has to be pointed out. But secondly, the location, the beach, the room, the facilities... Everything is just perfect. It literally feels like living in a movie scene. From comfortable sun beds to a bonfire at the beach during sunset, this hotel has it all. Even though we love trying out new restaurants, we only ate in the hotel restaurant the entire stay because it was that good. Peak time is in the morning, when beach club visitors are not yet there and the beach is empty. We will surely come back and have recommended this place to every other Mexico traveller we met so far! Only thing is: wish the beach had umbrellas - the only shade is from the plants, so you have to move the sun bed around (sounds easy, but they are really heavy and shade moves very much and fast!) But honestly, this is not a reason not to come here, just a suggestion :D

Just plain great. We were so pleased that we chose this place. Everything about it charming on the prettiest part of the beach. We had the cheapest room which was simple; boho chic. Could've done with a few more hooks but we made do. We ate more than we would normally in house - the food was excellent. I'm half Italian...the pasta offerings are spot on. Staff were charming. The evidence of the owners meant that every detail was taken care of. We will return.

Mawimbi is stunningly beautiful, relaxing and peaceful. The food and drinks were delicious (try the passionfruit mezcalita) and the accommodations spotless and luxurious. The staff is truly outstanding; they are a team that works incredibly hard to create a wonderful experience for their guests. We were blown away by their kindness, attention to detail and professionalism.

The service and attention at Mawimbi stands out as one of the best experiences. We went in late April 2024, weather was great! They treated you like family with enough attention to feel looked after but enough privacy and space to truly relax. The room was large with well appointed toiletries. The bed was comfortable. We spent most of our time relaxing in the beach club. The meals and drinks at the restaurant was delicious. I will be returning!

The Food, Drinks & Service are amazing at this amazing place… We came back two days in a row to the beds by the beach and our host Patricio was very good to us. We thoroughly recommend coming here to stay or even just for the day. We will certainly be visiting again.

peaceful stay at this pristine hotel on a beautiful beach with tremendous service. we thoroughly enjoyed all the meals and the scenery. could not recommend it more highly! be sure to add a beachfront massage! the balconies were spacious and key for the spattering of rain we had.
