Eden Private Island Tahaa

Great place to relax and Enjoy sea life. The people who take care of the place are really incredible. The lady is very nice and helpful. The man is an extraordinary cook. I Will recomend this place to anyone and we will come back for sure.

The island is beautiful and immaculate. The few bungalows are sufficiently spread out that it feels secluded and private. The lagoon is beautiful. The staff is friendly and welcoming. They arranged a nice boat trip for us and were able to switch to a car tour of the island at the last minute because the conditions were very windy. Hard to ask for more.

If you want a perfect, unforgettable French Polynesian experience, you must stay at La Pirogue Api!! We snorkeled around the motu (little island), kayaked over beautiful coral, ate delicious dinners, took an unbelievable full-day tour of Taha'a (arranged by the lovely staff), and made memories here to last us a lifetime. If you want to detach from reality and live in paradise for a while, book a bungalow here. You will not be disappointed.

We stayed here for 5 nights in September and absolutely loved it. We stayed on 5 different islands on our month trip to French Polynesia and this was our favourite accommodation. Manuel is super helpful and very charming in a quiet manner. The food was absolutely wonderful. Someone wrote that the bungalows are rustic. One man’s rustic is another man’s luxury! We felt it was pretty luxurious. Yes, no air con but we didn’t need it. Cleaning staff were fab and I liked that the room was cleaned when we were at breakfast. Nowhere else did that on our trip. We rented a car on both Tahaa and Raiatea. Tahaa is nice but Raiatea is absolutely spectacular. Definitely worth doing. When we were there most of the guests were English speaking which was nice and made a change. Thanks Manuel and Marine for such a wonderful stay. We miss your Mai Tais!

Spent 3 nights at this beautiful place. It really is spectacular. Manu and Marine are fantastic as are their team. The food was divine, rooms very comfortable and to sleep listening to the sounds of the waves in the distance. Kayaked over to the uninhabited island, used the paddle boards, snorkelled and also did the day trip to Taha'a to take in the pearl factory, distillery, vanilla plantation and snorkelling in the coral gardens as well as lunch on another island. Most people seemed to do 2-3 nights. In hindsight, I really wish we had done 4 or 5. The feel reminded me of the Maldives of the 80s and 90s but with the added bonus of gastronomic food and hot showers.

Amazing little hotel on a small motu near the reef off Taha’a. This is only a small 6,000m2 island with 5 villa’s plus reception/bar and restaurant. We stayed for 5 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our experience, although maybe a little too long due to the size of the island. We thoroughly enjoyed kayaking on the reef and actually went right round the adjacent island, the view of the coral and sea lofe is incredible, they even have a family of black tip reef sharks that regularly visit the edge near the restaurant. We also enjoyed snorkelling but did find it too shallow in a lot of areas. The villas were very rustic but well appointed, our villa no. 5 had a separate living rood and bedroom, large bathroom and large deck with direct access to the water. No A/C and struggled to get hot water in the shower after a rainy day. Overall very comfortable, but if your expecting 5* luxury think again, this isn’t it. What made this place for us was the staff and the food. The managers Emanuel and Marine were awesome hosts and very attentive to all guests needs. Breakfast was simple but delicious, including a plate of fresh fruit, toasts, croisants and jams, plus either omelette or scrambled eggs. Lunches were very good, but wow Marine was an absolute fantastic chef serving up amazing 3 course dinners every evening. The food here is a definite highlight. Overall we had an amazing time at La Pirogue and would thoroughly recommend. Just know that this is a small laid back island and is not your typical 5* luxury accommodation. We would come back again for the food and warm welcome of the staff. Many thanks to Emanuel and Marine for looking after us for a fab stay.
