Hotel Almrausch

Just come back from a lovely stay at this hotel! 100% worth a five star rating! All the staff were friendly and very attentive during dinner and breakfast ( but not overbearing) and every room was spotlessly clean. Food every night was gorgeous and enjoyed every single meal we ate there. Couldn’t be closer to the ski lift, about two arms reach away once outside!!! Also had amazing spa/ chill areas which was very needed after a long day on the slopes. Small hotel but exactly what we wanted, no noise, clean, friendly staff and beautiful food! Very well ran and would definitely return here if skiing in the area again. Made our family holiday so much more special, thank you hotel Almrausch ＜3

Recently back from a family ski trip staying at Hotel Almrausch. Small family run hotel which was spotlessly clean. The location of this hotel simply could not have been any better. Its literally 15 steps away from a t bar lift which is accessed from a side door with lift directly from the boot/ski locker room. Rooms were very clean and the showers were fantastic pressure and very hot. Lighting could have been a bit brighter in the bedrooms but not a big problem. Food in the restaurant was delicious and the staff were just the right level of attentive. The only downside for us was the bar area is not very big and as we were in three seperate bedrooms, there wasnt really anywhere to sit together in the evenings. Again not a big problem as we were all so tired from the days skiing, we went to bed fairly early. The bedrooms are very well sound insulated and we didnt hear any noise from other hotel guests (including our noisy son in the next door room!) The spa area was a very nice bonus after a days skiing although it was requested that you didnt wear swimming costumes in there. Realise this is an Austrian thing and you should embrace it, which my husband did but I just didnt feel comfortable with it so stayed in costume! but sat on towels which there was an ample amount of in spa area. Obviously being a small hotel, it might not have had as many facilites as one of the many larger hotels in the resort but think the difference with it was the service, which I just dont believe you get in a large hotel. The ski area of Hinterglemm and Saalbach is fantastic. So many lifts and runs. Think our longest queue was 1 minute but then we wasnt there in half term! Overall, I would 100% recommend this hotel. Thankyou to all the staff who made our family ski trip a very enjoyable one.

This is our second time staying at this amazing hotel, with a very hospitable family and their staff. The location is excellent, next to the ski lift, and with the new elevator (!), you can go directly from the heated ski storage to the slopes. The food is a delight every day, and half-board is simply a must. Relaxing in the (extensive) sauna after a day of skiing is absolutely enjoyable. We've stayed in quite a few hotels, but never in one where cleaning is done non-stop. This hospitality family knows how to treat their guests and deserves a big compliment. We are looking forward to our next visit.

Great hotel with friendly staff. Stayed here for a week as part of Crystal ski holiday package. The room was modern and spotlessly clean but not particularly cozy. But it did have a kettle and fridge for that all important morning cuppa. Could have saved some space as we brought our own travel kettle. Bathroom also had wall mounted full sized shower gel, body lotion so no need to bring also. Breakfast buffet including egg station was plentiful and tasty. The evening meal includes salad bar and starters followed by soup then mains (usually choice of 4) that you select at breakfast. The food really is top notch and varied. We had excellent Pork, Beef, Halibut, Lamb & Venison dishes. Local wines such as Zweigelt and Blaufränkisch are well worth trying and priced €26 per bottle upwards. Location of hotel allows access to the slopes very easily via a t-bar drag lift. However the south facing slopes that allow more novice / intermediate friendly via gondola are a 5 min walk away. Overall a great place to stay

We loved our stay at Hotel Almrusch. We didn’t find too many recent reviews for it before we went so here’s some thing we noticed that you might find helpful for your trip: Ahead of time a quick email to the hotel sorted our group of 8 to all sit together at dinner. Sarah was really helpful. The hotel is located next to an easy T-bar lift with a ‘blue’ run coming back down so you can be our of the modern ski room on the basement level of the hotel & onto the slope in moments. Quite a few people we spoke to commented that the skiing here was more challenging than other resorts and we certainly experienced a very wide range of ‘blue’ pistes from the very genetic to the very steep. The hotel is located on the North facing side of the valley so the rooms at the front don’t get the sun but the ones at the back will. We stayed in room 404 which had an amazing slope view, lovely balcony, large bedroom and bathroom with bathtub and shower over. Highly recommend. The staff are all incredibly helpful without being intrusive. The food is excellent. As a group of 8 we tried every meal on the menus and enjoyed them all. The main gondola for the south facing side of the mountain (ski to Saalbach) is about a 5 min walk. Worth it as the skiing in this side was generally less icy when we visited. You can also get the ski bus back for free and it stops just a few moments from the hotel (stop 15 I think). The gondola for the North-facing side (behind the hotel) is easily accessed by taking the t-bar lift up and following route 15 across the tops of the slopes to the right and down. Food & drink on the mountain was priced equally with in the town and IMO the mountain food was generally better for lunch. The only very minor downside was the hotel bar is quite small so when a group of 8 like ours was in there it was pretty much full. That’s l being really picky though as this is a great family run hotel. Thanks very much Sarah & team!

Stayed with a group of friends in Jan ‘22 for a ski trip. The rooms we had were modern and spacious, benefitting from a double and single bed (which is good as not a fan of the Austrian twin). The hotel is family run and the owners were really nice and friendly, food and service were spot on and exactly what we wanted. There is a drag lift next door to the hotel so we were able to get easy access to that side of the mountain. Sauna etc all looked modern and new. Would definitely revisit and recommend to others.
