I recently stayed at Hotel Alpine Palace and had a mostly pleasant experience, though there were a few aspects that could be improved. The room was spacious and very cosy, with plenty of room to relax after a day of skiing. However, there was an unpleasant smell that lingered in the room, which was a bit off-putting. I’m not sure if it was the cleaning products used or something else, but it definitely detracted from the otherwise comfortable atmosphere. The reception staff, especially Ester (I hope I’ve spelled her name correctly), were fantastic. Ester made us feel incredibly welcome and was always ready to assist with anything we needed, which really set a positive tone for our stay. The location of the hotel was perfect for skiing, with easy access to the slopes and beautiful views all around. The ski cellar was a highlight, very well-equipped and convenient. The sauna was another high point—especially because the guy who did the sauna infusions truly knew what he was doing, making the experience both relaxing and rejuvenating. As for the food, it was good, but I had expected a bit more. It was decent, but not extraordinary. One particular experience left a bad taste though. Another thing I noticed was the attire of some of the other guests, which didn’t seem appropriate for a hotel of this calibre. Many were dressed in a very casual and somewhat sloppy manner, which stood out, especially during dinner. It made the atmosphere feel less refined than I had anticipated. Additionally, there were quite a lot of children at the hotel, which might be great for families, but it did make the atmosphere feel more crowded and less relaxing at times. In the end, while there were some positives, like the lovely room and sauna experience, the food and certain interactions with staff made me feel that for the price, I would likely choose another hotel next time.
