Premier Inn Christchurch / Highcliffe

As usual with all premier inns you know what you are going to get and this one didn’t disappoint. Nice and local in the centre of the town next to a good pub for drinks and food. The air conditioning was excellent as well as the power shower. Can’t fault it fully recommend

Stayed for one night to attend a family celebration nearby. We found that the Premier Inn met all our needs and was located near a great beach so we had a lovely swim before going home. We would definitely go back. Breakfast was also very tasty

From the moment we arrived the staff were friendly and amenable. The room was clean and perfectly adequate for our short stay. Also the hotel is in a prime position to walk onto the Highcliffe High Street. The only drawback was not being able to access fresh air during the night. The air-con was very drying.

Avoid. Rude staff in nearby breakfast site. Failed to take our order, then said they had lost it. Poor facilities, tired building. Expensive and has an air of decay and not a place to spend too long in

I am regrettably posting a poor review as the in company guest survey gave no real opportunity to share my experiences and signposted me to TA. As a budget hotel the location, parking, sleep experience and general presentation of the hotel is acceptable. My concern was the very poor condition of the bathroom which was made worse by the poor standard of housekeeping. The bathroom is way off brand and requires basic updating in terms of fixtures and fittings. Whilst I sympathise with the team operating the unit the poor standard of housekeeping really lets the customer experience down. I had driven from Cornwall, arriving late and after over 5 hours in the car I didn't have the energy to raise the issue on the night of arrival. I did hover at the front desk next morning but couldn't see anyone hence my post here as a last resort.

I have stayed at several Premier Inns across the country, so I know what to expect. While some locations are clearly more pleasant than others, this Premier Inn in Highcliffe stands out as the worst and has led my partner to declare that this will be his last stay at a Premier Inn. Upon arrival, the receptionist was friendly and checked us in quickly. However, when we entered our room, we were greeted by a strong odor reminiscent of body odor, while the bathroom had an unpleasant smell of urine. On our way out for dinner, we informed another receptionist about the odor. She kindly asked if she could check the room to see if there was anything she could do. When we returned from dinner, we enquired whether she had been able to investigate the smell. Unfortunately, she mentioned that she had sinus issues and couldn't really detect much. Once back in our room, we were met with a strong scent of bleach that masked the unpleasant odour, but once the bleach smell faded, the original stench returned just as potent as before. With a teenager in tow and the bed already made, we decided to endure just one night and keep the window open. The heater was so noisy that I thought the bathroom light had been left on, but it turned out to just be the heater/air conditioning unit. Overall, the room appeared quite worn and would greatly benefit from a thorough cleaning and a fresh coat of paint. We would have reported these issues in the morning, but there was no one at the reception when we checked out. If all the rooms are as unpleasant as room 108, I highly recommend avoiding this Premier Inn until they upgrade their accommodations.
