I wanted to stay at a classy country hotel for a big birthday and this did not disappoint! We were warmly greeted on arrival and shown directly to our room which was immaculate. We went for a superior room which appeared to be a bit more spacious than the double rooms, and it was worth it, especially due to the hot weather experienced during our stay! We had our evening meal at the hotel which was amazing. The sticky toffee pudding was to die for! Breakfast was very special too with so much choice and extremely good coffee! I would have no hesitation in recommending staying at Stone House Hotel if you are looking for a special treat. Everything about it was so lovely!

A really beautiful hotel in a gorgeous location with extremely friendly staff members. The room was comfortable and spacious although the bathroom is perhaps a little dated now and the shower quite a squeeze (even for a size 12 woman) but having a bath was much appreciated. Our evening meal was good, though not exceptional but nothing to complain about. We were disappointed that the answer to our question as to whether we could have porridge without salt was a very firm 'no' but it was a nice change to have breakfast served to the table instead of the 'free for all' that is the more common breakfast buffet bar nowadays. All in all highly recommended.

The epitome of English countryside right outside your door (sheep, gardens, footpaths and an easy walk to the Green Dragon Pub). The hotel excelled in service, cleanliness and offerings! As a former hotel manager, the care and thoughtful that goes into running this place is evident in all they do. I can understand why visitors come back year after year.

Wow what can I say. What an hidden Gem. My partner, myself and Harry the Great Dane called in the Stone House Hotel for a quick tipple with the weather being so nice. We sat in the garden and just did not want to leave! The Sun, the view and especially the hospitality was the best we’ve ever experienced. The hotel is wonderful. We were met by James the Assistant Manager who was very attentive and so were all his staff. We were fortunate enough to meet the owners, Holly and Joe who also came out to say hello to all the people sitting in the garden. We were also very appreciative when Joe and Holly offered us a drink on the house. Not forgetting the member of staff who was with them. Sorry I can’t remember her name. Karen came out who was on the later shift to say hello and ask if we wanted anymore drinks. Last but not least a big big shout out to The Other Lynne who was very kind in showing me around the different vacant rooms even though her work day had finished. That is what makes a proper hotel business. We are now planning on staying there at the end of September for my significant birthday weekend! Thank you all staff, you were brilliant, just brilliant!

Lovely, lovely, lovely! Wonderful building, spaces, rooms, lawn, and views. Quiet, delicious, and welcoming.I will recommend Stone House to everyone and we will certainly stay here whenever we are back in the area.

We called in for afternoon tea and were pleasantly surprised - the hotel is has a very charming aspect with wonderful views from the front door (and rooms). Inside we were pleased to find a beautifully decorated and immaculately clean hotel - very English in style and a wonderful ambience. The staff were really lovely - they were so attentive, and couldn't have been better in any way. The afternoon tea was delightful - the array of sandwiches and accompaniments were perfect, both tea and coffee excellent. We will be back, probably to stay - the restaurant looks great (staff showed us around) and the evening menu is very good, though I would have liked to be able to order a steak... Charming little hotel with character.

The beautiful location, the high standard and attention to detail of the rooms, the quality and taste of the food, all help make this a wonderful hotel but the thing that sets it a notch above that is the welcome and exceptional customer service we received from all the staff. Nothing was too much trouble and we were made to feel like a family friend of The Stone House. We will be returning, again.
