Black Bull Bellingham

We had a great time visiting this pub, the food is great! they served 12pm till 9pm all day which is ideal as the other pub in the village stops serving for a few hours before dinner service. The food was all freshly made and good quality. They had the fire on with some Fleetwood mack playing which made the atmosphere really laidback and cozy. We found the selection of drinks great and the price was reasonable. They had live music on the following weekend which we would have went to however we were returning back home the following day. We would definitely make a trip back to the area specifically to stay in the Black Bull's hotel.

I highly recommend the Black Bull! I have stayed here in summer and again recently in the winter period. The pub is a super ideal getaway if you want to spend some time in the countryside. It’s super cosy, the food was very tasty and the guesthouse is extremely comfortable and has everything you need!

Beautiful food and good portion sizes. Very tasty . We had the black bull beef burger and chicken burger. Both came with homemade chips,onion rings and coleslaw. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Lovely cosy pub. Would highly recommend it you are passing or in the area.

We visited here last year and had a lovely meal so decided to go back this year when we returned back to the village for a holiday. We had another amazing meal here last week. The food was 10/10 and we could not fault it. The bar staff were all extremely attentive and looked after us. The pub had a great atmosphere as was hosting local pool competition, the locals are so friendly and welcoming! Both times we have ate here have been spot on we will definitely be returning when back in the area, definitely give it a try!

Having read the reviews I wasn’t sure but we thought we would give it a go. I rang at 4pm to ask what time they were serving food until. We were told it was 7.30pm. So we arrived at 6.40pm to an almost empty pub. There were people at two other tables. There was no one at the bar with 2 customers waiting and another customer had to go and find the bar staff. Once we got to order drinks, we were told they may not be serving food as they had a darts match (this seems to be a recurring theme from the other reviews). The bar staff asked the kitchen and told they already had an order for 8 people so couldn’t accommodate our order. So we had to leave. I did say to the bar staff that this seemed a recurring theme from previous reviews and she said they had just taken over. Looks like not much has changed. We ended up going to The Cheviot across the road for a much more pleasant welcome. It also is a lot nicer inside and we were a lot happier to be eating there. We plan to return to the village for future holidays but will not be attempting a meal at the Black Bull. They are just not reliable, particularly when we rang to check times of service.

What a lovely little pub in Bellingham. The staff are very attentive. Visited with my friend. We ordered the bull burger and a fish and chips,both were delicious..onion rings are amazing. Treated ourselves to a desert, and we were not disappointed with the biscoff cheesecake. We will definitely return.
