I have used this hotel on many occasions and always had a great experience and great value for money. However my room this weekend was located on the 2nd floor. There was a strong stale smell of cigarette smoke from the hallway carpet, which was heavily stained. The carpet by the lifts was also grubby. I felt like I was in the servants quarters and questioned reception staff as to whether this floor was undesirable guests. For the price of £128 for one night I expect a lot better. Staff and breakfast were spot on as usual.

Room very good and looks like it has been refurbished, a few small comments, the volume on the TV is restricted and I struggled to hear when in bed, the pressure coming out of the washbasin was poor. Lastly there was a dirty mug under the bed! Bed and pillows were really comfy though
