It was a nice stay. We took a Junior Suite with the private onsen included. The room is not huge, but has everything needed and is cozy enough. There are many amenities (in the pure Japanese hotel tradition) as well as a "Yukata bar" in which you can choose your fav yukata. The biggest perk of the room is obviously the private onsen, which is a truly hidden gem. Very relaxing with a nice seaview. Staff was very helpful with the clogged sink (came just a few minutes after we called). The dinner was an impressive buffet, with a wide choice of seafood both to cook (the oysters, abalone and other shells to be grilled were wow) and raw (ikura all you can eat). Besides that, there was a steak live cooking station, shabu shabu as well as sukiyaki. Definitely a recommended stay!

Would definitely come back again! We booked for one night but thought next time we should stay more nights in this Hotel. Excellent room and food. Overall, happy stay in this place.

It's my first time staying in ryokan with onsen and it was amazing since check in procedure full of warm relation and complete introduction to local habits till my first onsen visit. Something special is dinner in traditional Japanese way and sleeping on futons. Onsen with different baths and types of water is perfect after hard travel day and went us into the sleep in a seconds Very small and remarkable city around the hotel easy to walk around and keep a lot of nice photos to remember Super convinient location in 5 min to railroad station to Kobe and 30 min total to Shin-Kobe station. Staff support us even when we need to send luggage to the next hotel in Kyoto. Wish to visit it again

The onsen was amazing, and the best was the buffet, the variety was great and quality was great too!! The room was nice and size is good. The room view and the onsen sunset view was great too.

Don’t listen to the reviews! I almost cancelled my booking here due to some of the reviews of this hotel online, but we had a brilliant time at this hotel! It is in a very convenient location, has a lovely private onsen that you can book by the hour (as well as a free public onsen), and the buffet was one of the best buffets we have had! The buffet even included fresh seafood (shrimp, oyster, scallops etc) that you could grill yourself on the table in front of you. Highly recommend this hotel for a night in Miyajima.

Great location, with good views and very clean. Great value as we could enjoy the late evening and the early morning with many visitors.

The overall experience was ok. The path to hotel is a pebbled slope and stoned entrance, it’s gave me sort of a nostalgic feel, but it’s not luggage friendly. But I must say the hotel needs to do something on the ventilation/air circulation in the building. The room I stayed was near to the dining hall so the BBQ & food smell travelled & lingered along my room floor corridor throughout my stay. The onsen is located at the same section as the dining hall, the smell affected there as well. 

This is the most difficult review I have ever done. Book a room with veranda, but due to some mistake of 3rd party (not the hotel), I was given an aging twin room, while was clean, is showing it's age. The location is ok. The price value ratio is high. The dinner, though, was extra ordinarily rich and tasted very good.

The hotel is very nice, as it has originally been conceived. Lovely lobby, yukatas at disposal, outside swimming pool, nice onsen with beautiful view by the pool and another onsen with all the facilities and amenities in the hotel. Big and eautifully furbished japanese style rooms. Very nice and professional reception staff, and one person speaking French and English. Yeah !!! This being said, the hotel deserves an in depth cleaning session : carpets on the hallways, outside onsen, furnitures, walls. It looks a bit worn out. Also, during the whole evening there was a strong smell of grilled octopus / squid. We could smell it from the reception throughout all the floors until in our room on the 4th floor, although the kitchen is on the 6th floor ! There's definitely something to do with the ventilation of the kitchen. Finally, we didn't understand what happened in the morning. We've been rejected from breakfast along with other customers although we had booked the evening before upon recommendation from the reception. The person told us there were no more seats and since we insisted because we had to catch the first boat, we've been put at the service table. Once inside, we realized there were many free places, even entire tables unoccupied. Weird sense of organization... All in all, to finish on a nice note, our stay was rather good and we really mean weel when we mention the above.

My room was not clean, like the common areas. Mold and hair in the bathroom. Breakfast plentiful but of average quality. Friendly staff in perfect Japanese style

The place is very old and a bit on the moldy side. The dinner and lunch buffet is great. Room is pretty big. The location is pretty good. You can walk to the temple in about 10 minutes.

I stayed alone, but I think this is a great place to stay with family and friends! The room was quite big and comfortable, with views to the mountain. The experience in this hotel was lovely from the moment I stepped in. Nice instrumental music was playing in the lobby and the receptionist are very friendly and attentive. You also get to wear a yukata and traditional shoes for free. The breakfast included was very diverse and delicious!
