We made a reservation at this hotel at 11:49 am for a stay the following weekend, as we were attending a funeral. However, at 12:10 pm—just 21 minutes later—we called to cancel because we arranged to stay with family instead. During this call, we were explicitly assured that there would be no cancellation fees due to the prompt timing of our cancellation. Despite this assurance, we were surprised and disappointed to find a cancellation fee charged to our credit card a month later. When we called to address this issue, the hotel staff were unhelpful and dismissive, and at one point, the call was abruptly disconnected. This experience was both frustrating and disheartening. Clear communication and courteous customer service are essential in any business, and we felt let down on both fronts. We hope the hotel will address these practices to ensure a better experience for future guests.
