Hanoi Emerald Waters Hotel Valley

Amazing boutique hotel in central Hanoi! We only stayed one night but wish we had been able to stay longer. Grace was so helpful with organising a Ha Long Bay cruise for us, and Dave on reception was also very friendly and helpful. The staff really go above and beyond to make your stay special. The room was nice and the spa was great and very good value.

I cannot wow this hotel enough - one of the best hotel I have ever stayed in ! The rooms are well designed and decorated and very compatible - the restaurant is exceptional - breakfast and dinner and the staff are unbelievable - arranging trips ,tours ,airport transfers and generally assisting in all aspects at a very competitive price - providing support on all bookings . Washing arranged and sorted by the kilo - very competitive price and returned hours later nicely presented .Grace and her team are amazing and if I had an hotel I would employ the entire staff

We loved our time at Hanoi Emerald Waters Hotel Valley! The location was perfect—right in the city center, so we could walk everywhere. The room was clean, cozy, and very comfortable. The staff—Grace, Justin, Teddy, Henry, and Tom—were incredible! So friendly, polite, and always ready to help. They made our stay feel extra special. Great service, great price—highly recommend it

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left nothing was too much trouble. The front of house staff were impeccable in every regard. Big shout out to Grace and Tracy. Room was clean, bed super comfy. Bathroom great, plenty of hot water and clean towels. The hotel even looked after our large luggage items when we did a 3 day excursion meaning we could travel with just overnight bags. This made our excursion so much easier. Central location near the lake access to everything we needed. Breakfast served at sister hotel across the road was good. Spa and other hotel facilities available too. This hotel doesn’t have its own bar or lounge but this not hamper our stay.

The hotel is located behind other buildings, and the entrance is accessed via a long corridor. This surrounds the hotel on all sides, meaning that essentially all windows face inward. The room was dark, with no access to natural sunlight. Our window was just 50 cm away from the wall of another building. Additionally, the room’s décor is also dark, dominated by black tones, which only enhances the sense of gloom. The bathroom lacks ventilation, which means all the moisture stays in the room, which itself has no proper window. The air conditioning is weak and noisy, leaving an unpleasant smell lingering in the room. The cleanliness level is mediocre, with a lot of dust, and the entire hotel requires a thorough renovation. The staff is friendly but speaks limited English and is unfortunately not very helpful. When we asked for restaurant recommendations, we didn’t receive any meaningful suggestions, only being told that there were many options. We also inquired about places to visit and similarly received no useful guidance. It gives the impression that they rely on memorized, generic phrases. At the end of our stay, when we waited for our bus, they made a 10 minute speech why we should rate them 10 and insisted on it very strongly. I do not recommend this place.

We recently stayed for four very enjoyable nights at the Emerald Waters Hotel Valley. Conveniently located within the Old Quarter, it is perfectly positioned for exploring the city. Many attractions are within walking distance and an array of shops, restaurants, coffee shops and bars are on the doorstep. Importantly the building is quiet, ensuring a good night’s sleep, as it is set back from the road. The decor of our room was nice; it was very comfortable, clean and there was an impressive towel and flower display on the bed when we arrived. Breakfast was included. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. In particular reception staff Justin, Teddy and Grace were excellent, with great advice about such as what to see and good restaurants. We will stay here again when we return to Hanoi and I’d highly recommend the Emerald Waters. It provides everything you need for a successful trip to Hanoi.
