We stayed at Aishi Machame for 2 nights, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The hotel is ideally located near the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro — in fact, the Machame Gate, one of the main starting points for the Kilimanjaro climb, is just a 5-minute drive away. Naturally, the hotel is popular with climbers preparing for or returning from their trek. One of the highlights is the stunning view of Kilimanjaro from the hotel’s terrace — a truly memorable sight. The property itself is set amidst lush greenery, with a river flowing through the campus and plenty of trees all around, giving it a peaceful and refreshing atmosphere. There’s also a rabbit feeding pen, which adds a fun, family-friendly touch. The rooms and bathrooms are on the smaller side, which may not suit everyone, but they are spotlessly clean, and the housekeeping is excellent. Breakfast is complimentary and varies between a buffet or à la carte depending on the number of guests. The food was delicious, and the staff were warm, friendly, and always helpful — their hospitality really stood out. A great base for climbers or anyone looking to relax in a serene, green setting near Kilimanjaro.
