Looking for rice fields homestay (Guilin Liangjiang Sihu Ludi Scenic Area)

A wonderful place to spend the last two nights of my trip to China. Warm family atmosphere and friendly hosts. It is tucked away behind some hills giving the impression of a remote scenic getaway, but is only 20 minutes to the centre of the city by car. Incredible value, I doubt you could find anywhere else with the same comfortable rooms and excellent views at even triple the price. If you communicate with the hosts a couple hours ahead of time you can get quality custom food as well, as a traveller with celiac disease this was a huge deal for me and really topped off a wonderful visit.

Este hotel es especialmente interesante si quieres descansar en un lugar tranquilo y relajante con bonitas vistas. Está situado a las afueras de la ciudad de Guilin, con vistas a las montañas. Para llegar a las zonas turísticas o ciudades pintorescas, tendrás que coger un taxi o un Didi, pero no es difícil. Supongo que si no es en julio/agosto, se podrá ir andando hasta encontrar una zona con bicis o similar, pero en verano el calor es demasiado intenso como para ir a pie veinte minutos… Si quieres estar en pleno centro o moverte mucho hacia la ciudad, quizás esta opción no sea para ti. Apetece mucho quedarse allí a relajarse. Puedes llevar fruta o comida y utilizar la cocina. También es posible lavar la ropa allí. Nos habría encantado que se incluyera un desayuno y poder utilizar la piscina. Habría sido verdaderamente genial, pero se ve que algunas instalaciones están en desuso. Las habitaciones y los baños son amplios y cómodos. En general, este lugar tiene un potencial increíble, pero le hace falta mantenimiento. Lo mejor: Tom, nuestro adorable recepcionista. Nos ayudó en todo con la mayor paciencia y amabilidad del mundo. Nos dio botellas de agua y algún snack para nuestras excursiones y se levantó a las 6 a.m. para acompañarnos hasta que llegara el taxi. Insuperable. ¡Gracias, Tom! Hiciste una diferencia muy significativa en nuestra experiencia.

Das Hotel hat seine besten Jahre schon definitiv hinter sich und wirkt leicht heruntergekommen. Das Zimmer hat einige Flecken und Schimmel, die Dielen sind schon locker, das Bett ist auch leider recht hart (was in China aber häufig vorkommt). Auch die Klimaanlage ist sehr schwach, was besonders nachts und bei dem Klima in Guilin unangenehm ist. Positiv hervorzuheben ist jedoch die Terasse, auf der man sehr gut entspannten konnte. Die Lage ist zwar sehr ruhig, aber immer wenn man in die Stadt will muss man sich ein Taxi holen. Für den Preis war das Hotel in Ordnung, würde in Zukunft aber lieber was anderes besuchen
