Vila Gale Atlantico

All I can say is do not eat here. On the first night the two teenage boys with me, my son and his friend both suffered food poisoning from undercooked beef at the hotel. I informed the Jet2 rep at the time and she advised to speak to the reception staff which I did. Only to be rudely informed by the lady on reception that it couldn't possibly have been from the hotel as no one else was unwell or complained. I informed her that we had not eaten anywhere else and it was also impossible for anyone else to be unwell as they would not have eaten the same piece of beef as it clearly had not reached temperature and was an individual piece cooked infront of us. No apology, no offer of assistance just rudeness and lack of empathy shrugging her shoulders. The morning after at breakfast we stood and waited for a table of 6 to be greated with 'you will have to find your own table, I haven't got time I've got to get the food out'. We proceeded to sit at a dirty table for 5 as that was all that was available. Had the staff realised that the issue was the length of time the omelette, eggs and pancakes were taking cook as the lady on that station couldn't do more than one thing at once they would have realised that this was holding up the flow making people cue for their food and also tables due to the slow turnaround. If you asked her for anything or in a quick manner as I did when we were in a hurry on our last day to catch the transfer bus she then intentionally goes slower. I don't think I have been to a hotel with such unhelpful staff or disgusting food. Please see attached photos of what was on offer on an evening. This was the only hot food available and we had 4 children. Who lived on rice and chips for the remaining time there due to them being afraid to eat anything else and there being nothing to their liking. This hotel is rated 4 star. I wouldn't even give it a 3. It cost us over £3000 to take our family away for them to eat rations for the week we were there which is disappointing to say the least. We were not the only people there to complain about the food or service I might add. I hope something is done and no other family is in the same position.

Had great time at this hotel last week, great service, friendly staff beautiful surroundings with five minute walking distance to the beach with lovely seafood restaurants. the best of everything was the massive room with Balcony facing the beach gorgeous views it was a very pleasant experience, very relaxing. Had a great time. I recommend this hotel for couples or families.

Our first family holiday to Portugal and had a wonderful stay at Vila Gale Atlantico. Staff were very friendly and lots of activities for the kids. Rooms were spacious, clean and very well serviced. Great pools and short walk to beautiful beach. Highly recommend.

We have visited Vila Gale Atlântico several times. We love both the hotel and the area. The village is peaceful and friendly with beautiful beaches and an unspoilt undeveloped coastline. It is next to a wildlife area with miles of boardwalks. There’s an excellent supermarket 200m from the hotel and a bus stop outside the hotel. Local buses are regular and reliable.

We booked several rooms at Vila Gale Atlantico for a family vacation. None of the rooms had ocean views but some in our party upgraded to obtain this feature. The staff were very helpful and we appreciated daily maid service. Cooking equipment and utensils were less than adequate, but OK for making breakfast. Short walk to the beach and grocery store. In general our, our visit was satisfactory.

This hotel is running alive with cockroaches on the ground floor rooms, poolside, bar / reception and games room. The staff just tread on them and then transport the eggs wherever they walk. This hotel needs to deal with the cockroaches properly and stop denying they have a problem. Other Vila Gael hotels are much better and they know what customer care is. Jet2 are poor as well they don’t really want to know and blame the hotel and not themselves! I would never go back here. We also had a ant issue!
