We returned in Feb/March for our fifth visit to St Lucia and our second stay at this hotel.
The staff of the hotel are simply wonderful - they continue to be as good as any we have encountered anywhere in the world. The hotel manager is both visible and “hands-on” - frequently around, helping out her staff and talking to guests. They are all this hotel’s main asset.
Previous problems with the internet (which was very poor) and the continual loud music around the pool and hotel have been corrected – the internet is now good; and the music is now unobtrusive.
Unfortunately, this year, there were even fewer pool beds and parasols (with many in poor condition) than last, but we were assured by the Manager that new pool furniture was on the way and would be installed imminently.
We considered the bedroom was excellent last year and again this. A Nespresso-style coffee pod machine is provided but the pods are not always available, so bring some of your own (as well as slippers and a shower cap).
The bathroom is also excellent, with a good shower, and they have corrected a small minor irritation regarding hanging the bathrobes. The supply of towels is good, and the housekeeping staff are really “on the ball”.
Dining was a bit disappointing this year, as the top floor excellent restaurant was not available, but will be re-opened soon. Breakfast in Julia’s is not now included in the hotel cost. Nevertheless, the greatly enhanced buffet continental breakfast is inexpensive.
