Townsend Manor Inn

This is a wonderful hotel and restaurant, Hotel and banquet location. We had are 50th anniversary celebration at the hotel. Room rates were better than any other hotels that charged from $500.00 to over 1,000.00+ per night. The rooms that my guest had overlooked the marina. Great views day or night. Clean and very comfortable rooms. We did not eat in the restaurant at this time but previously had. There were 40 people of all ages and medical conditions In our party. It was the best dinner I had on the north fork in many years and reasonably priced. We had prim rib that melted in your mouth. The salmon and chicken superb. The chef was the person Chris Gonzales that booked the rooms, set the banquet and cooked the meal. He was a god send. Best place to stay and eat. If you have a boat you can tie up at the hotel In short the best on the north shore. .

With inns, you expect old. This is old and rundown. You walk in and entry has stuff everywhere. Boxes in front room like it’s a dumping pile. Room was adequate size with 2 beds. AC sounded like a rocket launch. Beds were comfortable. Bathroom was dingy. Vanity was all beat up. Sink drain was full of past guests detritus. Security was nonexistent. Anyone could walk into the buildings as the main doors only were closed but not locked. Places can no longer use Covid as an excuse. This is a place that takes no pride in their establishment. There’s lots of potential, but seems no effort is made to make it a nice inn. Unfortunately, this is a big location for weddings with few other affordable options. The rates here were moderately affordable. You definitely got what you paid for. Not much!

Old hotel in walking distance to all Greenport attractions. Renovations currently in progress so its a bit messy in areas, but it will be nice when it’s all done. Rooms are no frills but comfortable. The pool and poolside snack bar definitely a plus. The marina is also right there. It was fun looking at all the boats. We only ate in the restaurant for breakfast but it was tasty and filling. Definitely the most affordable option I found in Greenport in August. The area is beautiful! There is so much to do, from wineries to beaches to great restaurants. Shelter island ferry right in Greenport-makes for a nice day trip and access to the south fork and Montauk.
