Gouvia Hotel

My partner and I have just enjoyed a lovely week at the Gouvia Hotel. The staff were pleasant, helpful and friendly and went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and when we requested a move to a ground floor room, this was sorted by the lovely Martha on reception, with no fuss and no additional charge. The pool was lovely, clean and very quiet as it was early in the season. We had visited Gouvia before and still love the area, will come back to this hotel again. One very minor point, having read previous reviews we knew to bring our own travel kettle - I need my early morning coffee well before 8am when the restaurant opens for breakfast!!

Thank you for the warm hospitality . The accommodation was excellent with no problems . The staff members were warm and friendly. Had a wonderful stay. the rooms were clean and comfortable with everything you need and the food as well as the bar was amazing .

Overall the stay was adequate. The receptionist was nice and accommodating. The bedroom was absolutely fine and beds were comfy. However… the shower. You had to hold it yourself it wasn’t fixed to the wall and this was very annoying. The food at breakfast was was okay, nothing special but it was nice to have the option to have a free breakfast if we wanted one. The pool is quite big so that was nice.

We are regular travellers. I rarely post negative comments but want to give the hotel some points to help them improve so that British tourists keep coming. First of all there is no lift so the spiral marble stairs could pose a problem for anyone with mobility issues. The rooms are very small with poor furniture which doesn't fit. The bedside cabinet faces the bed so the drawers don't open, the wardrobe doors don't open wide enough to enable the inners drawers to open. The balcony is tiny. Coffee making facilities would be a nice touch. The bathroom is tiny and very old fashioned. The pool area is adequate but the sunbeds and umbrellas are ancient. Unless the area is cleaned in the middle of the night I didn't notice it being done. Breakfast is very basic but adequate. The resort is ok. Litter pickers would be a good idea on beach. There are some lovely restaurants in resort. Overall there are better, cheaper places to go. I'd try Spain or the canaries. Don't get me started on the airport. Extremely disappointed. Some people missing flights due to the inadequate staffing and facilities. Turkey is good. Might go back there soon. I hope this doesn't cause offence but people's general expectations are higher than when Greece was rubbish but cheap. It's now expensive but standards haven't improved. Must try harder.

This family run hotel is a must for your stay. I would give more than 5 if there was an option to. Perfectly located for the village, bus route to corfu town,walking distance to Kontokali and the marina, less than 5 minutes to the beach. It also has a really good size pool. Food is fantastic and great chocolate cake!! The staff are so warm and friendly and caring and will cater for everything, and the cleaners keep the rooms to a high standard and definitely no covid concerns, there is also a Dr linked to the hotel. Reception always on hand and so approachable and welcoming. I highly recommend here and can't wait to be back again. Thankyou to you all

Tout d’abord les quelques points positifs qui sont très peu nombreux : climatisation efficace mais payante (5 euros/jour), mini frigo qui fonctionne très bien, bon matelas, bus à 300 mètres pour visiter l’île POINTS NÉGATIFS : Un hôtel de 2 bâtiments dont l’un est très vétuste avec des chambres minuscules (nous avons dû choisir entre ouvrir les portes de l’armoire ou le tiroir de la table de nuit), une salle d’eau minuscule où les toilettes sont collés à la minuscule douche (nous avons dû choisir entre utiliser le rideau de douche qui colle systématiquement au corps vu l’espace réduit ou ne pas l’utiliser et mettre forcément de l’eau à l’extérieur), un petit balcon vue piscine mais surtout sur le parking (comme toutes les chambres côtés piscine qui est partagée avec un autre hôtel), des transats vieillissants mais surtout sales, peu de parasols, un nettoyage des chambres qui n’est pas fait tous les jours (explication de la réceptionniste : il y a beaucoup d’arrivées et de départs - un comble pour un hôtel), une chambre qui se ferme avec une clé de type verrou (a ne surtout pas oublier de verrouiller car sinon la porte s’ouvre avec la poignée - ce qui est arrivé du fait de la femme de ménage - une chambre laissée ainsi accessible à de potentiels visiteurs indésirables sur une journée entière), absence de coffre-fort dans la chambre (donc à vos risques et périls si la chambre n’est pas verrouillée), un petit déjeuner qui n’en a que le nom (très peu de produits mais surtout de basse qualité - j’ai abandonné dès le 2eme jour et j’allais déjeuner à l’extérieur), des toiles cirées qui collent à la peau si vous déjeuner en short, un hôtel avec une population très jeune (adolescents sans parents) à l’image de la ville qui n’est en rien une station balnéaire, plage (certes à 150 mètres) mais entourée de parking, eau trouble par rapport au reste des autres plages de l’île Bref : réfléchissez bien avant de réserver d’autant que le rapport qualité /prix est très mauvais (prix excessif au vu des prestations et de l’environnement. Cet hôtel n’a rien d’un 3 étoiles même selon les normes locales.

Le camere sono fatiscenti, il bagno ha un piatto doccia 60×60 ma dal muro sporge il gruppo rubinetti per 28 cm che occupa metà dello spazio. Secondo piano senza ascensore e nessuno che si proponga di aiutare. Le scale senza pianerottolo e quindi a chiocciola larghe 100 ma con solo 40 utilizzabile quindi fuori norma. In caso di incendio sarebbero più pericolose le scale del fuoco. In Italia l'ASL avrebbe già chiuso la struttura ma siamo in Grecia.. Colazione scarsa ho mangiato meglio in ospedale. Le fette di prosciutto fatte con i ritagli pressati! Buona la piscina anche se affollata perché condivisa con altro hotel Palotel. Buona la posizione. Voto totale 5 su 10 tendente al 4

Hotel scelto da agenzia Alpitour. Nelle foto mostrano hôtel rinnovato ma attenzione quello rinnovato si chiama Palmyra e sono 2 hôtel con la piscina in comune purtroppo solo questa. Gestione pessima e personale alla réception scortese.

Zeer vriendelijke vrouw achter de receptie, erg behulpzaam, ontbijt was matig met een strenge juf! dat je bijna geen eten meer durfde te pakken ;-). Prima kamer, gedateerd maar schoon, kleine douche. Prima zwembad. Vlak bij gouvia beach.
