We had our wedding here back in June and from start to finish we could not have wished for a more perfect day. This would have not been as perfect if it wasn't for the amazing staff. Neither we or any of our guests could pick a fault with the service we received and our guests still to this day compliment on how outstanding the venue and staff present were. Our wedding coordinator Angela was on hand from morning until night and kept us all on the right path to a smooth sailing day (even making sure the grooms fly plaid was sitting right ). Shannon our planner kept myself and my parter in the loop and ensured we had our plan in place and that everything was organised well before our big day. It was lovely to have such happy, friendly and cheerful faces from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. All of the staff work incredibly hard! We cannot forgot to mention David who is fun, positive and full life and just what every couple needs to calm their nerves on such a big day. He was there from start to finish even after everyone had left, buffing up the Ballroom floor ready for the next happy couple! Thank you so much again for such an amazing day! Mr and Mrs McGhie ❤️ x

Get married at balbirnie!! The venue itself is beautiful and artistic and makes an amazing picture! we booked our wedding here as we loved the option of food they had on the wedding package and choice. They offered a GF range , vegan and if any allergies we had from guests were present they can modify the menu to suit them ☺️ I would like to praise the wedding team we had a special mention to Leah , David and Lewis. Without these 3 our day wouldn’t have ran so smoothly and a massive thank you to all staff who were on too! They were attentive and supported us throughout the process including the tasting menu and any questions asked they were more than happy to help.

We had our wedding at Balbirnie House on the 8th June 2024. We stayed the full weekend and it was the best weekend of our lives. From the moment we checked in the staff were so accommodating and friendly, they made you feel like you were the only ones staying there. We had a BBQ the night before our wedding and the food was delicious. The day of our wedding was like a dream, from breakfast being delivered to the Pearl suite for myself and the bridesmaids to everything running so seamlessly throughout the day - we couldn't have asked for more. Many guests commented on how it was the best food they've had at a wedding. The drinks were a little on the expensive side but that is to be expected with a venue such as this. We stayed in the Pearls suite the night before which was so beautiful with the big windows, lots of light and comfy bed. We then stayed in the honeymoon suite for two nights which was incredible - the four poster bed and stand alone bath tub! The best thing about the venue overall though is the staff. They are all amazing! We will definitely be back for an overnight stay soon.

This is our second time attending for a Christmas party and again, it was amazing. Service is fast and efficient. The day went so smoothly, considering there was 14, of us dining.Drinks and food are incredible 😋 highly recommend for meal, a party or a walk as the grounds are stunning.

Awful. This used to be a special place but has drastically gone downhill. Recently attended an event and was appalled by the lack of quality. Welcome drink was Prosecco and was disgusting, looked at the label and it was clearly the cheapest brand they could find. We didn’t drink it. The food was very poor. The meat was dry and tasteless. After dinner coffee was on the menu but never actually served. I’m not surprised the hotel is very quiet. I’m local but will it attend again. To make matters worse, we were picked up by an elderly relative at 1am who has been fined £100 parking charges. We asked the hotel for help with this matter and were told no. I hate to think of the families who trust this place with their wedding to have their guests charges for simply being picked up afterwards with absolutely no help whatsoever when a ridiculous fine is later received.

Have attended a few of their Christmas party nights and this years is by far been the best. Dance was never empty and so busy I didn’t even go up myself. Everyone was having the best time and the DJ played the right music for the audience. Meal was also the best one yet! Only downside for me was the wine. Any wine drinker knows the right glass is important and plays a part in the enjoyment. Unfortunately, they only done small glasses and they were thick rimmed like you would be from asda for less than £1. For the venue and massive customer base it has, I do think attention to detail here needs some review.

We had the loveliest time at Balbirnie last week, gorgeous decorations to make us feel all festive, beautiful and delicious sharing platters and fabulous wine. We had a warm welcome from the staff and the roaring fire! Can’t fault it at all, wonderful experience.

Had the most amazing evening at Balbirnie. First of all the entrance looks amazing. All fairy lights, Christmas trees and festive berries. The hotel has excelled in festiveness this year and it set the mood for a wonderful evening. As always the staff were attentive and knowledgable making the experience all the more special. We had a lovely recommended white wine and the sharing boards to nibble on. We were not disappointed. What a lovely selection of cheeses, cured meats, humous, chutney and fruit and lovely warm, crusty bread. All while sat next to a roaring fire. The perfect way to spend the evening with friends. I highly recommend it.

Stayed on a special DBB offer on a girls getaway with a friend. Hotel is just stunning, I knew this already as I live local and have been previously for dinners and weddings. Cozy and peaceful public areas, make you just want to sit and enjoy. We were very kindly given a free upgrade to a massive, gorgeous bedroom. We were both thrilled with the room. Was a lovely surprise. Very appreciated. The dinner was fabulous. Beautiful surroundings, food was delicious. Waiters were good. Timings were just right. After a great sleep, we were looking forward to breakfast. Everything up till now was perfect. We expected to really enjoy our breakfast. Fresh fruit, coffee and orange juice. Breakfast started lovely. Unfortunately went badly downhill when we received our cooked breakfast. We both left practically full plates as was inedible. Rock hard haggis and black pudding. Couldn't even cut it with the knife. Dried out beans and sausage. Bacon was OK, not great. Was a disappointing end to our stay. However I enjoyed everything else so much, I'm already planning on rebooking! Maybe just a bad morning for the chef! Hopefully next time will be better. Would highly recommend, even though breakfast let it down. Would have been 5 stars if breakfast was edible. Thank you Balburnie for a great night away.
