Woodland Bay Hotel

This is my second time staying here, and prior to arriving I'd read the reviews about the lack of cookced breakfast. I was delighted with the breakfast provided as we got there late at night and it was a welcome snack, and there was still enough for the morning. The room was super clean, and cosy warm. Admittedly, yes you can hear noise from the road, but close the windows and it's grand.

The so-called hotel was recommended to us and as we were travelling, I'll admit we didn't do our research. While we expected that we might get a bite to eat when we arrived at around 7.30pm, we were told there was no restaurant or bar onsite but were casually told we'd probably get something in nearby Girvan. It was a Tuesday night and we had already driven through the town and noted everything was closed. We were reduced to bread and cheese from a supermarket. Apparently, there was a restaurant onsite but it closed last year. The place is a glorified motel and the name should be changed not to catch the unwary. The room was well equipped with a little kitchenette and even some food but there were a few cleaning issues and a torn curtain in our room. Be careful which room you're allocated as some of them are right beside the busy A road leading to the ferry, so you can expect traffic noise late into the night.

Lovely roomy sea-view 'premium' en-suite room with small kitchenette unit (small oven-microwave, fridge, sink, toaster) and the makings of a 'continental' breakfast left in the room. Eating out options are all in Girvan or further afield (Austins Restaurant in Girvan was fine). Being a sea front room the road noise from the A77 could be a bit much, but it was quiet enough at night. The two staff we dealt with were both helpful and friendly.

It’s important for travellers to know that the hotel restaurant has been closed for quite a while and there is NO cooked breakfast available. Breakfast consists of croissants wrapped in plastic, boxes of cereal, milk, instant coffee, all consumed in your room. TRIPADVISOR needs to revise its write up on the hotel to reflect current reality. This is not a hotel; you have a collection of rental rooms with housekeeping service. It’s located in a lonely and remote place.

Great place to stay before catching the ferry to Ireland. We stayed here a year ago and we’re delighted to get a room here again this year. Totally different room but still perfect. The beds are huge and comfortable, no bath in the shower room but very clean and nicely designed. The mini kitchen is perfectly supplied, everything you could possibly want for a continental breakfast is supplied along with a wee oven to cook in. Will definitely stay here again

Had an overnight stay while attending a nearby party. Room was spacious, comfortable and well equipped with fridge, kettle, iron etc. Bed was huge and very comfortable. Accommodation was spotlessly clean with ample parking spaces. Breakfast was served in the lovely restaurant behind the hotel. Lovely modern dining area with plenty of delicious breakfast choices and a friendly and pleasant waitress. We opted for the cooked breakfast which was first class. We would definitely return for an overnight stay and recommend it for both comfortable accommodation and for the excellent food served there.
