Hotel Castello Monticello

Very nice hotel in a wonderfull position, breathtaking view from the dining room. Warm stuff available for every needs. Nice rooms clean and silent. Exelent food, wonderfull breakfast. Our esperience was very positive.

Stayed here for five days with my husband. We wished we could have stayed longer. Really outstanding service from every member of staff - friendly, helpful, courteous. We paid a little extra for a room with sea view and it was a great pleasure to look out on the panoramic and ever changing view. Lovely gardens with a big terrace to sit in and watch birds or read. The weather wasn't perfect the whole time but the hotel lent us an umbrella. Our room was spacious and had a desk and chairs as well as a very comfortable bed. Very good bathroom with large shower and tiny sea view window! Breakfasts were perfectly good though fresh juices would have been welcome. We ate in the hotel every night because we couldn't be bothered to go out again; the hotel is a short walk out of town but coming back it's up a very steep hill (however there's a free shuttle from the port area to the hotel if you prefer to go out). The dinners were excellent; fractionally more expensive than in a basic restaurant but had a good choice of dishes, especially seafood. On several days we went out for long walks and the hotel provided a packed lunch @ 12 euros which we felt was good value for money. Spring was the perfect time to visit Giglio - the hillsides were covered with wonderful wildflowers and migrating birds were everywhere (hoopoes, golden orioles, bee eaters). There's a bus stop right outside the hotel which takes you to the two other settlements on the island. What we loved about this place was that it was old-fashioned in the best possible way - spotlessly clean, comfortable, and with everyone focussed on making sure guests truly enjoy staying there. It's a bit off the beaten track but a lovely place for anyone who likes islands and nature.

We stayed two nights, I wish we could have stayed longer. The hotel is very cute, the views are spectacular and the breakfast very enjoyable. The rooms were clean and comfortable. But above all were the people who managed and worked there. Everyone was very helpful and always smiling nothing was a problem. They had a shuttle service for the 3 main beaches of the island and for the port this was so convenient and always available. I would highly recommend this hotel

Albergo in ottima posizione, centrale per arrivare nei luoghi di maggiore interesse Camera da rimodernare con mobili obsoleti, bagno da ristrutturare puzzano di fogna da non potervi stare dentro, letti comodi. Nel complesso struttura tutta da rimodernare.

Breve soggiorno, ma molto piacevole, ottimo il ristorate e comodissimo il servizio take away, colazione a buffet dolce e salato. Servizio navetta, per raggiungere i punti dell' isola impeccabile (sconsigliato l'uso dell' auto per raggiungere le spiagge). Camera pulita e gentilezza da parte di tutti A presto

Location panoramica, ottima ospitalità, servizio navetta eccellente, ristorante di qualità, pulizia, comodità della posizione per riprendere il traghetto. iPeccato arredo un po’ desueto e colazione normale. Ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo.
