Sheraton Austin Georgetown Hotel & Conference Center

Disgusting!!! The sheets were not changed. There were stains on the sheets and sleep wrinkles (see photos). I called down to say this sheets were dirty…the guy came up and passed me the sheets. I don’t live here why should I clean (change sheets) in a room I just walked in. No one ever apologized. This place is awful!!

We had a great weekend stay here. Hotel was clean. Room was spacious and clean. Had great facilities and restaurants. Pool was good. Location was great for restaurants and shopping. Would recommend staying if your in Georgetown. We did a day trip into Austin and it was about 30 minutes. Close enough to go for the day.

While there are positives, decent location (note, despite the name this hotel is not in Austin), close to a couple of very good "walk to" restaurants, pleasant spacious lobby with a nice view of greenbelt, and a tremendous walking trail. However, the lack of attention to detail and the "gotcha" on the parking make this a no return for me. The parking fee is not disclosed until you get your confirmation and then it is at the very end. $10 a night to a third-party app that you have to give up privacy to book, coupled with undisclosed fees and taxes, all for a 2/3s empty parking garage. More frustrating, I found out too late that complimentary parking was available. This was never communicated to me at the front desk, even after I protested the "gotcha." Although stains and "little things" are a given in a hotel, the preponderance of small issues were excessive. Our suite living room was stained almost wall-to-wall, broken door handle into the bedroom, difficult thermostats, cheap literally falling apart coffee table, lamps, etc., rock hard stained couch, dinghy brown decor theme, shower control faucet that I could barely turn on (forget it for my wife), flaking ceiling paint in the bathroom, and an undersized bathroom in on oversized suite with a bathroom door that literally required you to back into a corner to close it from the inside, a poor excuse for a "Sheraton Club," poor completely self-serve breakfast buffet with auto 18% gratuity, booking issues...I could go on but you get the point. More suitable and better-managed options are available in the area.

This hotel hit on all cylinders the weekend we spent. Clean, comfortable and top notch service. The parking ramp was a bit crowded but no complaints when there is not additional charge to use it. Great food and coffee within a block. This will be our go to hotel when visiting Southwestern University

I have stayed here at least twice a month for the last 9 months and have usually enjoyed it. But 3 times now in my last 4 visits, my room was not made, which means I don't have fresh towels or water upon my return after a long business day. Unfortunately, there is not another "nice" hotel in Georgetown, and they seem to be taking advantage of that fact.

This is long but feel like everyone should know about what happens in this hotel stays. We live in Sun City and this is what happened when our A/C went out on Saturday June 24. We managed to stay home for a couple days with fans, etc. But eventually it got too hot to bare. On June 26, I booked a room at the Sheraton Inn in Georgetown for that night online using the Bonvoy website. This was booked using our free night certificate from Our Marriott credit card. So on the morning of June 27, after finding out the repairs weren’t going to be done until Wednesday, June 28, I called the front desk and asked if we would be able to keep the same room if we booked another night for Tuesday, June 28. On receiving a yes reply, I informed him I would do it online as I wanted to use Marriott points. I immediately rebooked and then later that morning before checkout time went to front desk to have rekeyed for 2nd booking. We went home for a couple hours to check on things and pick up more clothes. We left items that we knew we would need upon return. On returning that afternoon, the first thing I noticed missing was the water bowl we had left for our dog. I called housekeeping/security and they said nothing had been turned in. At first I thought maybe we had taken it home and had forgotten. Late that evening, after returning from eating there, we noticed more items missing that we had left Tuesday morning. We had left a bottle of bourbon with a small amount left along with two Tervis glasses since we knew we were coming back. Then we started thinking about other items we knew we had left because we needed them that night: A prescription of antibiotics, a prescription cough syrup, a men’s black shaving kit with miscellaneous but most importantly a mouthguard and Apple Watch inside. Right now we estimate our loss is approximately $1200+. I tried calling security but no answer so waited to call first thing Wednesday morning. I was in touch with security numerous times the next few days and he informed me nothing was turned in from that room. The housekeeper claims she didn’t remove anything. All I know is we are positive we left the items in the room. If because of the two separate bookings the housekeeper thought they were left by mistake and took them out they still should have been turned into lost and found. I don’t know what was done with it but we wanted to recover our missing items or be reimbursed so that we can replace them. After no further response from security, an email was sent to General Manager of Sheraton. After a few emails back and forth she said it was turned over to insurance claims. A few more days, received notice from insurance that claim denied because no proof that items were in room. Said valuables either need to be put in safe or left at front desk for safety when leaving room. I didn't know shaving kit, prescriptions, etc. would be considered "valuables" End of story, we were given a $250 gift card to use a

Loved the complimentary parking option, from the moment you walk in, the facility is clean and has a 4-Star feeling. I tested the property for its pool pass. When I got there, the front desk agent assisted me right away. She gave me good directions to the pool. I had to wait for a bit because security had to create a key for me. Wish this was done in advance. I went to the pool and was less impressed. For a 4-star property, I expected more. Dirty towels everywhere, trash on the ground, and beer containers rolling around. In my 4 hours there, not one staff member came to check. Ordering food and drinks was awkward. 3 bartenders behind the bar and nobody was excited to serve. Again, I expected more. All three saw me struggling to take my plate and drink back to the pool. I wish someone would have offered assistances, especially since it was so quiet. I didn’t go back for seconds. Overall, I expected more though I only spent $20 to enjoy the pool.

I stay at this hotel 3-4 times per year. It is a nice property but the staff is consistently the least friendly hotel staff I’ve ever seen anywhere. Coming out of the pandemic, I chalked it up to stresses related to reopening a conference hotel safely and having adequate staffing. Over a year later, the staff is still unfriendly. Not rude, per se; everyone seems absolutely overwhelmed like they are doing two jobs with a consistently full hotel and cannot take time for a moment of courtesy. Who knows but I’m tired of the inadequate service levels for the price point, having experienced similar situations three stays this year so far. This stay, they literally don’t have enough little plastic door keys for everyone in my room to get one. And despite selling rooms with club access, there isn’t even hot coffee on the weekends, which feels like paying extra for nothing. So buyer beware. Sure this looks like the most upscale hotel property in Georgetown but you should consider the price point vs mid tier alternatives because the amenities and service are basically on par with what you would get at a lower priced alternative.

We stayed at 6 different hotel on this trip and this is by far our favorite. The public areas look and feel upscale. We booked a 2Q room and was assigned to one of the best rooms of this category, a club level room overlooking the park in the back of the hotel. There was a freeway in the distance. But we couldn't hear the traffic at all in our room. The room was large with enough seating for all three of us. The club lounge served breakfast and evening hors d'oeuvres Mon-Thurs. We didn't get to partake since we were there over the weekend. We did dine at the Brix And Ale a few times. The lunch and dinner were pretty good. The breakfast was a bit low-budget for a hotel of this caliber. The fruit salad consisted only of cantaloupe, honey dew and grapes. The only topping for the oatmeal was brown sugar... You get the idea. All said, we are very happy with the stay and will definitely be back.
