The Hideout at Bear Lake is an enchanting mix of mountain Luxury and outdoor adventure.. With beautiful views and space for 34 guests it doesn't get any better than the Hideout. Guests can enjoy hiking, ATV and snowmobile trails right from the front door. Located in Shundahai and set on an amazing 1 acre immaculately landscaped lot , guests at the Hideout can enjoy ATV, snowmobile and hiking trails directly from the cabin. A spacious driveway, which offers parking for all our guests. The Hideout is only 10 minutes from Beaver Mountain Ski resort and 5 minutes from Bear Lake. Which makes it perfect for year round use. The Hideout has has been designed for large groups (28 people in beds) plus a large grass yard perfect for setting up tents or sleeping under the stars!--We are set up for large family reunions or company retreats with room to be together but space to enjoy privacy. The loft area has a games table and ping pong which provides fun for all ages. Downstairs has a large 65" TV with Bose Surround Sound perfect for watching movies or your favorite sports team. The Hideout has a kids room with built in Bunks their own TV and DVD player. The Backyard offers the best views Bear Lake has to offer with a fire pit and kids custom play area. . The disappointments: Reached out a week prior to plan the pool and private beach activities only to be told that the beach amenities were “shutdown for the summer.” It is annoying that we had to reach out for that information and were not notified as soon as owners knew. Only cryptic details were given & we had to scramble to make alternative plans. The main selling point of the house was said pool/private beach access…be aware that it is NOT available but is still in current listing. We made the most of it, but the bottom line is that we did not receive amenities we had paid for and have yet to get a decent explanation or any concession for the false advertising and lack of prior communication. There was garbage we had to remove, dishes to put away, and crud in the dishwasher we cleaned and fixed. We also had to clean the grill. The WiFi went out mid-stay but it seemed like an equipment issue and not something the owners could have prevented so no big deal. It forced us to get out so it was okay. The good: Plenty of space and beds for our group of 26 other than the limited dining space but we were able to make it work. The kitchen had everything we needed but needs a refresh on the organization.The outstanding: the view is second to none. The weather was great and we ultimately made the most of the downers and had a good reunion. All that being said, we will book a different house next time. 3 stars due to unmet expectations and no real explanations.

The pictures don't do it justice, so beautiful, inside and out! The place was perfect for our family reunion. Plenty of space, fantastic and well-stocked kitchen (best we've ever seen), lots of seating, rooms to gather and rooms to be alone, and the views are simply stunning. We agreed we'd love to come back. The host never did tell us how to access Legacy Beach, so I'm not sure that's still an amenity, but we didn't need it since we kept ourselves entertained at the house. We didn't love the early check out for such a large group, but we made it with only a few grumbles! If you're looking for a quiet, comfy, beautiful place for a large group, our family would recommend The Hideout!

Bear Lake Family Trip 2024 Plenty of room for all. Had an amazing moose right in the back yard. We spent most of our time at the north bear lake where the water was the most amazing blue.

Great place for a big family! We spent a week at this house. There was plenty of room, we never felt like we were on top of each other. The kitchen was well stocked. Lots of parking and it was nice to use the garage. We saw a lot of animals (deer, moose, wild turkeys and such. Beautiful view. The only negative was that we couldn’t get into the pool and other amenities, we needed a little more information on that. See you next year!

The Hideout We had a great stay at The Hideout. There was plenty of room for our large family. The beds were comfortable, lots of extra bedding and kitchen supplies. The view was incredible!

Wonderful Getaway The house was just as expected. Beautiful view of the lake in a great secluded location. Plenty of parking for our family and we appreciated the fully stocked kitchen. Also plenty of extra blankets and pillows. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful Home, Poorly Maintained We LOVE Bear Lake, but we’re disappointed by this rental. The owners ghosted me repeatedly when I had questions or reported issues at the house (such as the cable not working) so I eventually gave up and stopped trying to communicate. I tried both the manager’s phone number listed in the binder and the app messaging system. The clubhouse information is inaccurate. There is no pool table, foosball, beach volleyball, etc. There is only a swimming pool and beach access. The sign on the gate indicates that “wristbands are required” and the owner confirmed that we needed them, but gave no information about how to obtain them. I would have loved a reply so we could track down the promised destinations, the teens in our group were extremely disappointed. The house itself is in poor repair. The toilets run constantly and when we looked in the tank, they are held together by zip ties that get caught on the mechanisms. There’s a rodent living in the basement walls that you can hear scurrying around the rooms. Many closets were locked and unusable and the pantry and fridge had several shelves full of food labeled “owners, do not use.” There’s a rule that you can only eat on the main floor, despite dining tables and kitchens on the other floors. It is extremely limiting. I have stayed in many VRBOs and never witnessed an owner lock you out of so many portions of the house. Overall, while the house and views are beautiful, we would not stay again.

Nice cabin This is our second time staying at this cabin. We love the view and area, access to legacy beach. It was a good size for our extended family vacation. Cleanliness was not quite as good this time as the time before. Overall we had a great time and this cabin was a great place to stay. 😊
