Pender Harbour Resort & Marina

Stayed in Motel #4 which was clean & spacious along with most things needed to cook & eat as to save spending $$ on restaurants which are few to choose from. Could use a sitting area instead of 2 beds but not a complaint just a suggestion. This is our 2nd stay and with serene view and deck area to enjoy it from, relaxation was what it provided.

We rented a 2 bedroom with ocean front view . I was concerned about only 1 bathroom for 2 couples in the cabin but found out there are bathrooms and showers next to the office and pool area so that was a relief. The balcony/deck with bbq and jacuzzi was very large. We were a total of 7 friends having all our meals on the balcony /deck and it was very comfortable. Kitchen is fine but it would have been nice if a small bottle of cooking oil, tin foil and plastic wrap was in the cupboards. They provide tea , coffee and packets of salt and pepper which was appreciated. Beds we found were a bit on the soft side . The facility and landscaping is very well maintained .

This place is a hidden gem. Form the moment we arrived Linda was super helpful and kind. The room we got was motel 3. It has all you need. We went with my family and can’t wait to go again. The pool is perfect. The grounds are kept clean. Thank you so much for the great mini vacation.

THE PROS: *beautiful location with views of the marina, ocean and treed areas from the deck of cabin number 8 *all staff with the exception of the owner, were friendly and helpful *the cabins are nice although lacking ‘resort’ amenities (ie no microwave, decaf coffee or kleenex and only a few bathroom amenities). THE CONS: *this property is not a ‘resort’ in the traditional sense of the word *there are 22 RV sites on the property as well as the cabins *the website states the pool is open May to September but it was closed *the starter button on the (old) barbecue did not work *our bedroom window DID NOT HAVE A LOCK ON IT and the screen was held on with duct tape *we drove to the office several times and there was never anyone there. We had to text/call the owner or his wife when we had a question or we needed something. The owner did not always answer back. *on the second day we were there, I asked the owner to please come and talk with me to discuss the above issues. When he came, he was immediately defensive and rude and unwilling to discuss these issues any further. As he walked away, he said to me, “JUST LEAVE”. *this was a three night ($320/night including pet fee and taxes) 70th birthday get-a-way for me. This owner’s LACK OF PUBLIC RELATIONS AND CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS and totally disrespectful behaviour and attitude ruined my special day. *I would not return to this property nor would I recommend it to family or friends.
