Taj Gandhinagar Resort and Spa

Our stay at Taj Gandhinagar was a mixed experience. While the food was decent, it didn’t particularly stand out. The biggest issue we faced was with the electricity—there were frequent power disruptions, which caused the air conditioning to turn off multiple times throughout the night. As a result, we had to wake up at least five times just to switch it back on, making it quite difficult to get a restful sleep. For a hotel of this caliber, we expected a much smoother experience in terms of basic amenities.

Things were horrible from the check-in. We understand that they had marriage and checking out, and it can delay the rooms, but they should have had appropriate seating arrangements for the guest that are coming in to check in no setting no proper directions by the staff we got one room around 1:45 PM on request and am thankful for that as we had a one year old child and the other room around 2:45 PM. When the check-in time was 2 PM, there was urine smelling in our room for which we had to call the staff and get the bathroom cleaned as it was not cleaned properly from the previous guests, the Furniture was outdated. They were leaking taps. Breakfast and dinner were good. Overall experience never felt like Taj. This was out fourth visit to a Taj hotel and would not select this place if looking to unwind with family over the weekend. On check out, I went to the front desk to make payment and the front desk guy checked us out and said we are all clear. They had my credit card toekinsed during booking and I thought he deducted payment from that. We had two rooms, I left and the guests from the other room which I check out as well was to leave after 15-20 minutes. Well he came to know the payment wasn’t made and we still had pending payment for The entire stay. I do understand things can happen but how reckless of the staff to not know the Check out procedure and create undue hassle.

Excellent resort with typical Taj quality facility and luxury. Good food and extremely courteous people all around. We specially like to name a few gentleman who made our stay memorable. Manoj, Pankaj, Rajesh and Ansuka. Special thanks to chef Nikhil and Chef Heer. Thank you.
