Best Western Historic Frederick

It was okay! Average hotel. Person at front desk was kind and professional. Hotel has smell of old smoke and cigarettes. Vending machines on our floor (2nd) and in the stairwell. King room with sofa was comfortable enough. Went to front desk to ask for pillows and a blanket, desk clerk got them right away. Missed breakfast, coffee was fine.

The staff were very friendly and nice, and the breakfast had more options than other hotels I've stayed at. Highly recommend staying at this wonderful place.

The place need to fix the ceiling bathroom and some parts in the room you can see it need to repaired. I should of take pictures

The first room we were given had a very unpleasant odor. Additionally, our keycard malfunctioned six times over the course of just two days, which was quite inconvenient. The hot water dispenser also doesn't work unless there's water in the coffee machine, which means you can't get any hot water for tea or other needs—this seems like a design flaw, as the hot water dispenser should have its own dedicated supply. The lighting in Room 146 is also too dim, and the window appears to be broken. As mentioned earlier, the smell in the room was particularly bad and made the stay uncomfortable.

I was not able to sleep past 7am because they are replacing the roof and there was a lot of noise. I stayed in the second floor so they were literally above me. My shower also had a hole the size of my foot. Would not recommend it. My room was 227.

Disappointing there are better options in Fredrick The Best Western was disappointing. Maybe I had too high expectations as it was 30-50% more expensive than other budget options. What was good: The room was clean. The bed was comfortable The staff member who checked me in was very friendly. What could be improved: The blow dryer in my room didn’t work. The bathroom is small (but functional). I got a room by one of the stairwells and the first night people kept coming and going with the door to the stairs banging each time. Just get a soft-close system. Breakfast was incredibly basic. The eggs looked like they were from powder not fresh scrambled eggs. The yoghurt dispenser was dripping yoghurt. The location is misleading- it’s called “historic Fredrick” but there is nothing close to historic by the hotel. What is by the hotel is a highway. The room I originally booked (king sized bed) was facing the highway so the helpful staff member suggested I take a different room during check in. I still heard traffic from the highway. The mini fridge had a life of its own and made kiss of noise as it struggled to stay cold. Each of the issues was in itself “small” but collectively they made for one if the least pleasant hotel experiences I have had the past 18 months with over 25 hotel nights.
