The Ashbrook Hotel

We had a really lovely stay at The Ashbrook Hotel. The rooms were spotless with incredibly comfortable beds. The location is perfect—close to many distilleries and other destinations. The bar downstairs is a real highlight with a great bourbon selection. It has a great atmosphere and makes it easy to wind down after a day out. The area also felt very safe, and walking to nearby restaurants, shops, and bourbon bars was super easy. One of the things we appreciated most was how the hotel managed to preserve the charm and character of the historic building while still feeling updated and very clean. It strikes a great balance between modern comfort and classic personality. If you're a light sleeper, consider requesting a room not directly above the bar or restaurant, as music can carry upstairs. It didn’t bother us, but it might be something to consider when booking your room. The room we stayed in (Luxury Queen) had beautiful, large windows, which let in a lot of light—great during the day, but quite bright in the early mornings, which could also be an issue for a light sleeper. A few small issues- communication with the staff was challenging. I love the idea of a virtual check-in hotel and understood that from the start. Although they handle requests via text, we didn’t get a response about the wifi or room supplies until the day we checked out. That said, anytime we spoke with someone in person when there was someone on site or over the phone, they were helpful. I hope and imagine some of these things will be ironed out over time with it being a new hotel. I do think that would be helpful, especially at the price point of the hotel. It’s a beautiful, thoughtfully designed place, clean and original. I would stay here again and enjoyed our experience.

This elegant boutique hotel should be on your bucket list if you are visiting or passing through Frankfort, KY. Careful attention has been paid to preserving the unique architectural features of this historic mansion, while adding the necessary touches to make it comfortable and relevant for today. The result is a charming mix of history and modern convenience. The onsite restaurant deserves a 5 star rating for delicious entrees and some special and unique appetizers. Can’t wait to come back!!
