We just stayed at the Villa Maria Hotel & Spa for 1 night and had a great experience. It was the first time ever being in Francavilla al Mare and we are so happy that we chose this place. The location was great as we were without a car. The taxi ride to and from the Pescara train station was only 10 minutes. Also, we enjoy walking. It was only a 10-15 minute walk to the beach in Francavilla al Mare and all of the restaurants, shops there—very easy to do. The room was clean, very spacious and I do recommend a view of the water—absolutely incredible. We loved our balcony. The property itself is very hidden and quiet. The hotel is very nice, kept very well and the breakfast was delicious. The entire staff at the Villa Maria is very accommodating and attentive to our every need—thank you to everyone working there! Upon our return to that area, we will definitely stay at the Villa Maria Hotel again. I highly recommend!

We stayed a week here. Accessibility wise, it is only a short walk to the beach and restaurants BUT it is down and then up a very steep hill. Unless you like fish, most of the nearby restaurants will not suit you. Would recommend having a car due to these facts. There is a courtesy mini bus service to a beach which was at a cost of €25 euros per day inc umbrella, chairs etc. We ate dinner in the restaurant twice. The food was very good but is a limited menu. Portion size on the small size. We ate breakfast most mornings which at €5 is good value for money . Varied buffet breakfast with lovely local bread and cakes, fruit yoghurt etc, cold meat and cheeses and scrambled eggs. We booked 6 months in advance and were disappointed with the room allocated to us. We had booked a superior room and queried on the first night if that was what we were in. We were assured we were……but….. on further conversation the next day with very helpful check in desk staff, it became clear we were in one half of a family room. There was not much difference in amenity except the superior room was approx 8-10 m2 bigger…..so a huge difference. We were subsequently moved on night 3 of 7 so this aspect was disappointing and the photos on the website of various rooms are very misleading. We felt slightly cheated over this. There is also an issue with noise from other rooms which is audible for sure but did not cause us any significant issue. In terms of the rooms and public areas, the gardens and pool areas are very pleasant to spend time in. The restaurants for breakfast and dinner are ok too. The rooms and corridors are tired and do need refreshing in our view, especially the bathrooms which are showing signs of age with black mould in a lot of the grouting. Lastly, the staff throughout the hotel were outstanding in every respect. The service was exceptional…… friendly, informative, professional and efficient. 10/10. Had this not been the case we would have reviewed it at 3/5.

This hotel was way beyond our expectations. Exceptional service, delicious food, wonderful facilities. The staff went out of their way to make sure our needs were completely met. The Spa was a special surprise.

We are coming to this hotel every year, and always we take master suite, with private jacuzzy and sauna. Have to say that it need already renovation, and they should more care about room details. If you stay in best suite in hotel, nothing should miss there. So we had some problem with water in jacuzzy some problem with sauna and some small problems with details. Which is pitty. Its getting old and owner should care about renovation and not only take money for room. All hotel actually is not like this good like before. Breakfast is worse now. Also spa is getting old. They say by phone that they have bagno turco ( steam room) but it never works . Funny because we are coming minimum last 4 years here and i never saw that steam room work on. Its not so difficult finally repair it. There is only two saunas and thats it. Which is a really pitty. Especially if they say there is steam. I also always go for massage here, but its just money spend cause if you choose ayurverdic or any other it will be all same. Nothing hard or strong or different. So even if iam giving chance to them always, massage its just fly 100€ but not deserve.

Fantastic Hotel, geographically perfect, Great Staff, Suite with a sea view was perfect Spa swimming pools fantastic. Pricing was real value for money. Looked after by staff and treated like you should be when on holiday.
