Orchard Lodge & Wolds Restaurant

A very warm welcome and an exciting menu. Everything is fresh and produced locally. The menu is small but why do you need a large menu when everything is so good. Will definitely be going back

Lucinda and Andrew are the perfect hosts for this wonderful hotel. We had a very enjoyable 3 night stay. Comfortable room, spotlessly clean of course. Breakfast gorgeous with fresh fruits and local produce including honeys and jams. The refreshing apple juice is made from the apples in the hotel’s orchard. The seating areas outside and the summer house were pleasant locations to enjoy drinks from the very well stocked bar.

Restuarant only, we did not stay in the hotel as we are quite local. Lovely food with a good host, sorry not to have eaten here before we did.

My wife and I have enjoyed evening meals here on several occasions. It has been a bucket-list type dream of mine to stay the evening after a sumptuous meal. Our 49th wedding anniversary provided that opportunity. We hadn’t intended to stay and were ill-prepared, however our meal was, as always, phenomenal and the French wine that supported it, superb (not to mention the cocktail beforehand!) I indulged in the lobster, which was prepared and presented so very well. We enquired about a room and were offered a beautiful room overlooking the orchard. It was super clean, well decorated and furnished and spacious. I reminisced about our wonderful wedding day all those years ago and of how very fortunate I have been in life to have found such a wonderful woman to be beside me - however, the thought of the morning’s breakfast kept interrupting (don’t tell my wife) The following morning, after a wonderfully peaceful sleep and a cup of tea, of which there was a plentiful choice, we went down for breakfast. Plenty of cut fresh fruits, hot toast and a full English breakfast made of local produce. I take this opportunity to thank Andrew and Lucinda for creating and maintaining this beautiful and peaceful haven. Top marks to you both, to Michael the amazing chef and to all of your team. Your guests are at the very top of your priorities in every way. We thoroughly recommend Orchard Lodge for outstanding accommodation and Wolds Restaurant for exceptional food. We will be back soon!

Celebrating the end of our 8 day Cleveland Way walking adventure my Daughter and I were looking for somewhere special in the Filey area to enjoy a special dinner. And boy did we find it! A short 20 minute drive and we arrived at Wolds Restaurant. From the moment we walked through the door we felt very at home with such a warm welcome. Starting with a pre-dinner drink in the snug before being led to our dinner and our table where the oversize blackboard was presented with the evenings choices, all sourced within the local area. Even adapting to my duaghter's shellfish allergy at short notice was not a problem. Needless to say the food and service were all excellent and if we do find ourselves in the local area again we know where we'll be making our first dinner reservation. Thank you!

We had an excellent two-night stay at the Orchard Lodge toward the end of June 2025. The room was super clean and comfortable, the bed and bedding luxurious., there was absolutely nothing we could fault. The Dinner in the restaurant was outstanding, as was the service. We were made to feel very welcome, nothing was too much trouble (we even received a complimentary drink and candle on our desserts, for our special occassion :) The breakfasts were equally excellent, there was nothing we could have wanted for. There is also a lovely garden to sit in. Andrew and Lucinda are very nice hosts and the lady serving in the restaurant is just lovely. Thank you all for making our stay such a great experience. We hope to be back !
