Area Hotel

The hotel has a great location, right on the sea front, easy walking distance to lots of restaurants, and all the staff were amazing, friendly and helpful. The rooms are dated, but clean. Towels were changed often (probably too often) but sometimes all were changed, other days just one. There seemed to be no reason behind it. Major downsides were: there is no wi fi in the rooms. the breakfast is the same everyday which became very tired in the second week. Efes beer in the bar was the most expensive in Calis, but the location doesn't merit this. This is a cheap and cheerful hotel. Don't expect too much and you won't be disappointed.

This was the second stay at the area for me and ive recently booked there again for next year. The hotel is basic but has everything you need from wifi to hairdryers. They are cleaned everyday and the staff are very friendly. The pool is amazing and there's always plenty of sunbeds available. The pool area is spacious so you don't feel crammed in. All in all great experience everytime I go never have any problems with the hotel.

This hotel is directly on the sea from at Calis. It has a large pool and is connected to the Italian restaurant at the front of the hotel. The rooms, although basic and a little dated are spotless and have everything you need. I would definitely stay again, The breakfast is plentiful with everything you could want, bread, fruit, eggs, pastries, hot drinks etc The hotel was busy but everyone had a sun bed. The hotel had hairdryers and ours stopped working, this was replaced in 30 minutes of reporting it. Great service, nice hotel and helpful staff who work hard.

We've just spent 2 weeks at area hotel and we thought it was fine,..right on the beach and central for everything,..yes rooms are small,..but ours was slightly bigger than our friends as we had a smaller balcony as we were right in the corner of the hotel,..but could still see the lovely sea n pool...yes the hotel is basic but we knew that when we booked and we only used it for a base,. Breakfast fine bit samey but did us..owner was very friendly and always gave us a wave whenever he saw us,..bedding n towels were all clean and maid did a great job keeping our rooms tidy,..lovely bar area,..we never ate there but the food looked very nice...bar staff friendly to,..big shout out for the 2 young lads that never seemed to stop working from morning till night,. You did a great job keeping things tidy..all in all I would definitely stay here again..its not luxury so don't go expecting it,..for the money we paid we where happy with what we got,...with amazing views and friendly staff.

I wasn’t sure what to expect on arrival. Checking in was fine, first impressions of my room, i was mortified. Dark room, very VERY dated, dirty, all the furniture was scuffed and naff- my balcony doors didn’t lock, the view from my balcony overlooked flats on a destitute road. Towels were yellow with stains, the owner just needs to bulk buy new ones and bin the tatty towels. The hotel on first impressions made me feel uncomfortable and unsafe. However we did arrive during the night and in the morning when looking around and locating the pool, it seemed more pleasant, the pool area is lovely and the highlight of this hotel, its clean, nice shape to the pool, plenty of sun-beds during our stay with power-soles. The hotel has an amazing location from the pool, its located on the beach front. Best of both literally right there. The hotel restaurant, with the sea view is lovely with delicious food. The hotel looks good from the pool side however its just in need of complete renovation inside the hotel, its such a shame it really would be an amazing hotel or a boutique. This hotel is perfect as a budget friendly hotel however i do expect a general level of hygiene throughout and a basic clean decor and furniture. However if you are literally using the room as a base and you don’t mind a bit of the above, this hotel does serve its purpose. Fethye- beautiful sunsets, very very friendly, great bars- lively but not cubby. Bars and music with everything to choose from on where to eat- delicious food too. Beach was full with fag butts. Loads of stray dogs, packs of them 24/7 they bark and dight with eachother very intimidating.

Lovely, Turkish-family owned simple “pension” style hotel, very well positioned just back from the seafront. We just returned yesterday from a week long stay there and found it very comfortable. It is more Turkish style than perhaps other hotels (darker inside, to keep cooler in the very hot summer months) with Turkish silks on the wall and the wrought ironwork you see frequently on more traditional buildings. English is spoken but is limited - however, you can still discern the genuine warmth towards guests even if there’s a language barrier! We were given a room overlooking both the pool and the sea, which had a beautiful view. There is a little balcony, more for standing on to look over said view as it’s quite small. Little wires were strung tightly across for hanging towels and beachwear, with clothes pegs provided. The twins beds put together were EXTREMELY comfortable - my husband is very fussy and hates a hard bed but these mattresses were supportive and comfy without being hard. They provide a cotton blanket for each bed as a cover. We were a bit perplexed at first - but after trying them, I’m definitely ordering some to use at home during hot months; they were so comfortable to use as a coverlet. Being October, we didn’t use the a/c (which is included in the room rate price) until we were packing on the morning we left and it worked very well, and quickly. The rooms are on the small side but enough. Plenty of wardrobe space and drawer space, so we totally unpacked to give us more room. The room was very clean and towels were changed everyday. The bathroom was adequate; the shower leaked a bit, but the shower itself was good and strong. There is a surprisingly good hairdryer supplied. The pool was very nice; large and had flotation things/lilos etc for guest use plus a small baby pool. Walking past and through the little garden, you are at the beach in two minutes! There is an Italian restaurant right by and an ice-cream and fresh fruit juice vendor the other side on the promenade as you walk out. The only negatives were that they have keycards for the room key, which necessitates a heavy reader box on the door. This means the doors have a tendency to “slam” shut and the noise can be loud. During the height of the season, when the hotel’s full, you could be potentially disturbed by guests constantly slamming doors (a problem you also always get in large corporate hotels). We do have to mention the breakfast, which could be improved really. Eggs (pre boiled) are served and there is often a variety of bread, with a toaster. Some cheese sometimes available, some fresh yoghurt (which was very nice), but that’s about it. Fresh fruit juice would’ve been nice, considering there are so many oranges and pomegranates about and/or some fruit. Some local honey and jams would’ve also been nice to have.
