Check in is at 3pm or 15:00. We arrived at 5:30 pm or 17:30 and were made to wait more than 30 minutes outside while the room was being prepared. When we asked what time check in was supposed to be, we got a nasty response. This is a very bad way to start a visit.

We stayed at Riad Mayfez for 3 nights in October. Simply put, it is stunning... the perfect location, chic decor, clean/relaxing atmosphere, and great breakfast is hard to beat. The staff/service team is extremely friendly, and the hamam was excellent. Brought my rental car and the staff organized secure parking super close by. Will be staying there when next in Fez!

I stayed at another riad and decided to spend a day at the pool and hammam at the Riad Mayfez. What a delight. Rajae (I may be spelling it wrong), Houda and the rest of the team made my day just blissful. That was my first hammam and cannot wait to go back. Thank you for making my day so special. We stayed for 3 nights , from the moment we were dropped off and met by one of the team who transported our luggage , to our first glimpse through the door and seeing the inner courtyard for the first time. We knew we had arrived someone special. The welcome by Houda and Mohamid was warm and heartfelt. We were shown around the riad and then taken to our suite. It was as just stunning ! The suite was simply gorgeous and was so homely and the balcony I could just sit on all day! We really did pinch ourselves to think we had found the Mayfez! We stayed half board and both breakfast and dinner were wonderful. Everything full of flavour. Nothing was too much trouble . We arranged a tour with a local guide who was so easy to spend a day with and who was full of so much knowledge . Actually 40 years of knowledge! We felt like we were staying with family and didn’t want to leave . This really is a special place to call home whilst travelling and the whole team is a real asset. I really can’t wait to visit again one day and enjoy another fantastic stay and wander Fez again. Keep up the amazing work, the Mayfez deserves every success! Book and enjoy !!

A most glorious, luxury, calm and friendly hotel I have ever stayed at. There is nothing to fault at this Rihad, first impressions were impressive, the public rooms ouze luxury, style and warmth. The suite I was in was absolutely stunning, a most comfortable bed with exceptional quality bedding. The bathroom was an absolute joy, a roll top bath which I like on holiday. The lighting was well done, the balcony was truly unique with views to die for. You really do feel you are staying in somewhere very special, in fact it is magical and you feel so happy knowing you picked this place to stay We enjoyed breakfast and dinner at the Mayfez. The food is fresh, original and very tasty. The most important thing which sets this hotel above anywhere else I have stayed is the hospitality of the team. Houda manages the Rihad with true professionalism and makes her guests truly feel at home. Her assistant Mohamid attention to detail and customer service is astonishing. Both of these peoples genuine care to their guests goes beyond and above anywhere I have stayed before. We stayed for 3 nights but wish we had booked for more but had to continue our tour of Morroco . The city of Fes is full of interesting history and lovely architecture. We booked a tour with the guide for a whole day which meant we were able to get round so much. I absolutely love what Fes has to offer, and the knowledge that we were going home to the Mayfes most comforting. Well done Houda on what you and your team have achieved at the Mayfes, you are shining stars and deserve every success and prosperity.

What a magical place that will make you feel at home. I travel a lot and Mayfez showed me a new way to travel. I first stayed here as somewhere to just rest. Mayfez should actually have been our destination! The team - Houda, Mohammed, Driss, and Rachid - are so dedicated, kind, and wonderful. They pay close attention to every detail during our stay: making sure all legs of our transportation are well planned, activities are smoothly coordinated, food are excellent, rooms are very comfortable. If there is any room for the team to go above and beyond, there is no hesitation that they will jump on the opportunity to offer assistance. They are a quick WhatsApp chat away. Mayfez is a true riad. Images will not do justice to this sublime wonder. When you walk around the property, you will discover endless treasures.

So happy to read such positive reviews for Mayfez and to see that fellow travelers agree with the enchantment we experienced while staying at Riad Mayfez. So much of what has been said in these reviews, echo our experience. The customer service provided by the staff was top notch! Mohammed and Imad greeted us upon our arrival with the warmest welcome! Over the next 3 days they truly became friends, who we enjoyed visiting with each day. We are so grateful to have enjoyed learning about the Moroccan culture, through listening to their insightful stories and lived experiences. As well, Houda always went above and beyond to ensure a superb stay...which it was! Clearly, her leadership sets the stage for running the day to day operations of this 5- Star Riad! The view from the Mayfez gorgeous and expansive roof top garden/courtyard provided the setting for beautiful sunsets and unparalleled 360 degree views of the Fez-- an awe inspiring view, which we quickly became obsessed with, as you can see from some of our photos. We recommend that anyone traveling to Fez, be sure to book your stay at this Riad. It is a place that we will never forget. Mayfez is not to be missed!

After reading some of the reviews, I am a bit taken back and also confused that we probably were not staying in the "same place"? Our room was rather dark with poor lighting, and quite dusty. It has a lot tiny and twisted stairs and not idea for older travelers. Same beer or water in the fridge costs many times more that the ones just a few blocks down. We stayed in the hotel for dinner once, and it is really average at best, and costs many times more. Now here is the kicker: in order to go out for dinner anywhere, you really need someone to lead you there and back, because Fas is a maze/google map does not work well, we were told one should not go out after 5-6pm. Guess what ? dinner only starts much later than that. The staffs in the hotel are nice but they are busy with other duties, there are not enough staffs we can ask to escort us for dinner and call/ask them to escort us back after dinner. Here is a suggestion: Hiring a staff just to escort guest out for meal or improve the quality of the food inside Riad. Granted, this Riad is pretty looking, for a house, in order to make a hotel, it needs 5 star service, such as food, etc.
