Felixstowe Beach Holiday Park - Park Holidays UK

First of all the positive. We are currently day 2 of our 4 day stay at this park. Upon arrival we were able to check straight in, there was no real queue and staff were quick and efficient with their information - kind of I will circle back. The caravan was easy to find and absolutely spotless thank you Sarah who according to the sign cleaned our van! That is the only positive.. Now for the not so good…. The staff at check in told us the pool was open during the day and to just turn up on the hour, not factually true.. the pool is open to the guests 9am - 11am CLOSED for 2 hours then reopens for 2 more sessions 2pm and 3pm then is closed for the day at 4pm so you can imagine the frustration turning up at 1pm with a baby and teenager ready for swimming with no pool to swim in. The welcome pack contains NO information regarding swim times. Now baring in mind we booked 4 night stay Monday to Friday over the half term, only to arrive and find the bar is closed both Monday and Tuesday which is not what is included in the information pack. We were told on the Monday they were bringing a chef in on Tuesday (like they were doing us a favour) only for us to head to the bar to find it in darkness and locked. As we were heading back to the caravan we got a call to ask how our stay currently was and when we mentioned the bar the person responded with ‘well we will try and have it open on Wednesday’ Now we are fully aware there is no live entertainment which is fine however it should be mentioned on the website that the clubhouse isn’t open for 2 days of the week which includes no access to the arcade either. I can understand when the schools are on to maybe not have so many amenities open full time but over the half term including a bank holiday seems a bit insane. We paid £389 for the platinum caravan and although it’s a nice van the campsite is a bit of a disappointment and I will be emailing the head office to complain.

If the measure of customer service is how you're dealt with when things go wrong, This place takes the gold star. Booked a bronze plus caravan (12 foot) on the website. No such caravan exists on this site. Manager said she'd contact us. No contact. Emailed manager. No response. Went back to reception. Manager would not come out of her office. Have had to get head office involved. Not hopeful of a resolution. Trading standards next.

Had the best time this weekend in the clubhouse thanks to Carl and the wonderful people present. We can only come to the park every other weekend and always look forward to the evenings in the clubhouse especially now Carl is running it. There's so much going on now and especially looking forward to the bank holiday weekend.
