We were pleasantly surprised with the updated Hotel Hi-Ho. The contactless check in was pretty straightforward. The liquor store and restaurant on site were very convenient. The room was comfortable and the new bathroom was lovely. The ice machine in the common room was broken and/or out of ice.

Every time we travel to Fairfield this is the only place we stay. It’s clean close to everything and the rooms are a great deal

Bathrooms need ventilation exhaust fans; other than that, they could also use cellular repeaters installed. was iffy getting calls and such. Had to get on wifi and turn on wifi calling to stop from dropping calls, had 2 different carriers didn't matter both major wireless providers dropped calls.

Hotel Hi Ho is a nice old-style hotel/motor lodge with small rooms with a bed, TV, bathroom, chair and coffee maker. The only gripe I had with our room at all was the heater/air conditioner needed a new fan shroud as whenever it turned on a loud distracting metallic rattling noise overpowered the TV or woke me from sleep. And this was like every five minutes or so. I didn't want to turn the unit off as I was worried about being cold since it wasn't super warm when I was staying there. As this hotel doesn't have a staff -- all of the check in and check out is automated -- there isn't much to say about the place otherwise. The restaurant downstairs is very nice and has a good set of happy hour specials.

The these is practically no parking reserved for the hotel guests. There is a very busy restaurant in the same facility and they have valet parking. The valets reserve spaces by using cones and if you leave the hotel after 5 PM, it is almost impossible to get parking without waiting for someone to leave!

It’s location right above the superb and jumping Spanish restaurant, Barcelona. Also the rooms are larger and more comfortable than before the renovation and there is quick access to the Merritt Parkway and many stores on the Black Rock Turnpike.
