Just spent 5 nights at Villa Beldi, a calm oasis outside of Essaouira town. Three of us stayed in Suite Les Santes, a lovely two roomed suite with a large bathroom and outside seating area. We ate several meals here which were all really good, and they catered for our gluten free requirements too. The standard menu is the same every day for lunch and dinner, but there is a different 3 course dinner option each evening. And they do serve beer and wine! All the staff were very friendly and helpful, booking taxis, our airport transfer, restaurants etc. Some people have said you can walk into town, which you can if you don’t mind walking down a main road with no shade, and it would take a good half an hour I reckon. We opted for taxis at 20 Dhiram, less than £2, each way, and worth every penny in our view! Also be prepared for the wind! It’s not just breezy in Essaouira, it can feel gale force at times! On our first couple of days there were 40mph gusts, but it calmed a bit after that. It brings the temperature down quite a lot (we’d had 3 days in Marrakech when it was over 40) and it was mid 20s but still plenty hot enough to get sunburnt! Overall a really lovely place to stay, we’d highly recommend it to anyone.
