Well... Where to Start ... I ve been taking group of 22 dancers to Morocco for more than 22 years ... This year we planned Essaouira ... As I worked in collaboration with Hotel des Iles before... I just expected the same welcome we used to get ... But it looks like they have a New Manager who seem to know all and nothing at all ... Our Food during the week was appalling and a mediocre Tasteless with tiny portions and Dry ( Hardly any sauces served) .. That s such a shame as we re in one the best countries of the world when it comes to Food and welcoming ... Plus we had consistent comments on the dancing elements.. why were people dancing ( even in our initial emails it states the purpose of the visit ?????? ( what this got to do with him .... ff..... knows) But I ll have to give credit to the Friendly staff who never fail to please the group.. I don t usually leave Reviews But I feel this needs to reach the main Boss of the Hotel ...

Excellent hotel. Lovely location, staff in the hotel were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast in this hotel was amazing. Very good value for money. The hotel is in the heart of Essaouira where everything is in walking distance. Swimming pool was also lovely. We traveled as a group of 14 ladies and we had an amazing time. Will definitely return here soon!

I know that is off-season. BUT! Just watch the pictures. Room 413 in the hotel. Three was mold on the wall, the curtain was thorn. Ás I know it is supposed to be a four star hotel. Just a horrible vacation.

The best feature of this place is the location, just across from the beach and a very short walk to the lovely Medina. I’m sure it would have been a deluxe place to stay a number of decades ago but it is in serious need of a complete renovation. The rooms don’t have air conditioning, a fridge of any sort and no windows to open just the sliding door onto the porch which we kept open, to find a cat sleeping in the room with us in the morning. Lucky we like cats. The pool is big and cool but inundated by seagulls. Breakfast was good and in a big, elegant room. Our fellow travellers used their room towels for the beach and then found it extremely difficult to get a replacement towel. Great spot but can’t recommend unless it’s a bargain price and you don’t mind old and run-down.

Step back in time and luxuriate in the Orson Welles suite, walk to ocean, or relax in the gorgeous pool. This gem retains its original charm and is a completely delightful experience. Listening to the morning calls for prayer with the windows open was just a wonderful experience. Highly recommend. Note this is not a modern 2023 Radisson so you should be a bit more flexible with your expectations at this legendary place.

Disaster experience. Room was sold expensive with a low cleaning leveli. TV not working, dump smell in the lockers, Wash basins clogged, Shower hose splashing water left and right. Balcony doors not closing. Dirty towels. Unbelievable breakfast experience, glasses are washed with water only and not wiped. You could see lip stick marks, plates not available, VERY poor buffet and not refilled. Many people complained about cleanliness and hygiene. Staff are careless and shewing food while working. Absence of leadership and felt cheated with the big amount of money we paid. Very old hotel and It seems no one cares about customers rather than taking them for a ride for the money they pay. I DON'T and will NEVER recommend the place.
