The Seven Hotel

We had a room in the tower and it was really lovely with a superb shower and very funky. The restaurant served a very good high end meal, the chef is clearly talented. Staff were very nice too. So why only three stars? The location is a bit strange, there is a campsite behind it, (not visible) and to the front the forest views are indeed of a small forrest beyond which is some very large industrial works that can be heard all day and night. Not very loud but a constant background noise of heavy machinery clanking metal and occasional ‘beepers’. When we arrived we seemed to be the only guests, the staff made us welcome and served drinks on the terrace but it had no atmosphere. Breakfast was completely unacceptable given the price of approx. €250 B&B. (The meal was the same amount again). We had to select what we wanted to eat the night before, and what time we wanted breakfast. It was only continental breakfast and if we wanted boiled eggs these were €5 each extra. 😳 We arrived at the appointed time to be told there was no bread or croissant, they were in the oven. They arrived piping hot but undercooked 15 minutes later. The rest of the portion controlled breakfast was served to us on individual trays in reception. When we came to pay our bill we explained breakfast was poor and we did not think we should be charged for it. The poor receptionist apologised but said they had no authority to discount rates and she was alone and could not call a manager either. At night we were given an phone number to call in case of issues so I suspect the hotel is not staffed 24 hours. Our very funky washbasin had a drip, and the hotel had fixed another tap on the end of the first tap to stop it. So you had to unscrew and old fashioned tap, then operate the modern tap, then turn both off again. Reception said to my knew about this.

The room and the hotel location are great, lovely park nearby. Every time we needed something from reception from check in to check out we had to go and find someone from the restaurant, and we also had difficulty paying. Considering the price, I would expect better.

Ontvangst was vrij koel. Bleek dat het (gerenommeerde) restaurant gesloten was (wat nergens wordt vermeld, noch op de website, noch op Facebook e.d.). We konden dus zelf nog op zoek naar een restaurant in het niet zo gezellige stadscentrum. Hebben toch iets gevonden en waren achteraf blij dat we niet in het hotel hadden gedineerd. Kamer is ruim en geen storende geluiden van buitenaf. Wel groezelige vlekken op het vast tapijt en op de bleke zetel. Hotel zal destijds hip geweest zijn, maar is nu dringend aan een upgrade toe. Geen airco. Ontbijt was niet in buffetvorm (daar slagen ze niet in, naar hun eigen zeggen) en vrij karig. Letterlijk slappe koffie. Kortom, dis is een overprijsd hotel dat zeker geen vier sterren waard is.

Beim Einchecken ins Hotel wurden wir von einer überaus freundlichen Empfangsdame begrüßt . Die Zimmer waren trotz 36° Außentemperaturen angenehm kühl. Das Zimmer war schön mit offenem Bad und sehr gutem Bett. Dass wir auf einem Blatt unser morgiges Frühstück bzw. dessen Bestandteile , ankreuzen / aussuchen durften , mit einem sehr reichen Angebot , fand ich zielorientiert und gut gegen Wegwerfpolitik ( Buffets ) . Am Abend gingen wir durch das architektonisch extrem schöne und ansprechende Restaurant auf dessen Terrasse , wo wir kulinarisch extrem verwöhnt wurden . Spanische Küche at its best .. bei unserer nächsten Reise durch Luxemburg kommen wir garantiert wieder

Wat een fijn hotel, middenin de natuur. Goede kamers met een heerlijk bed. Erg leuk detail: appeltje op je kussen ipv een snoepje👌. Personeel erg voorkomend en als kers op de taart een heerlijk diner. Kan niet lang duren of dit restaurant krijgt een Michelin ster. Zeer verzorgd, mooi servies, prachtige gerechten. Aanrader!!!

Nul on y et allez avec ma femme et des amis un dimanche aucun service disponible la veille d'un ferrier pas de hammam pas de restaurant pas de bar on paie une prestation juste pour une chambre c'est très honteux de la part d'un telle hôtel je déconseille fortement une honte.
