ibis Epernay Centre Ville

We keep on coming back to this place yearly due to the fantastic location. Staff is always nice and rooms are decent, always clean. Breakfast was kind of crowded this time and the selection was not as good as it has been before. Near to a great parking. We will most likely be back.

Had a very welcoming check in experience by a lovely young lady who explained everything in some detail to me including the car parking in the underground car park below. And how there was a special rate of €10 something for 2 hours there if the ticket was correctly validated, so I parked our car down there. Spent a lovely evening in town and upon checking out the following day presented my car park ticket for the expected validation to be told that I had to do that with the office at the car park. So I went there and explained that I was staying at the Ibis and needed the ticket validating and was directed to the cash machine. Which promptly charged me €34.40 for the privilege of 20 hours parking. I will be visiting Epernay again on my travels but will be staying well away from the centre. Either someone from the municipal car park needs to talk to the Ibis management, or vice versa, the Ibis management needs to talk to them. I obviously was not the first victim of this.

I know that the title of this review does not relate directly to the hotel, but may impact a decision to stay here. Rooms are small (even the bigger one we booked)- “Comfort Room”. Adequate for a 1 night stay but very noisy all night with people drinking in the square. (Not the fault of the hotel though). Small bar with fairly priced glasses of Champagne. Staff were helpful & friendly but could not really recommend good Champagne tasting. If you want to avoid the expensive tourist traps on the main run; try Bar A Vins Et Champanes in the town. Great tasting, great waiter for a fraction of the price. Good location but would probably not stay again on account of the city parking charges & noisy location.

Arrived at hotel. Got charged for both rooms again despite having already paid. Paid again as we didn’t want to cause a scene whilst checking in. Checked confirmation and confirmed we’d prepaid. Was told we’d be reimbursed after we proved pre-payment. Went out for evening meal. Came back for drinks before bed before 11pm. Stood at the bar but was ignored by staff who saw us arrive (2 staff members sitting chatting at reception - both ignoring the 4 of us at the bar). Eventually managed to get the attention of (disturb) the chatting staff who finally served us. A smile would have been nice?? Won’t be coming back here in a hurry to be honest. Not the usual Ibis experience sadly …. on the plus side, great location and nice rooms

Had a wonderful stay at this hotel. Reception were very helpful checking us in and helping arrange taxis to a wedding we were attending. The double room was lovely, big bathroom and a very comfortable bed and pillows. Well situated in the middle of the town, close by to everything with a nice courtyard area with fountains out the back. Breakfast was very good with a large selection of continental and cooked food (bacon & scrambled eggs etc). Clean, tidy and quiet of an evening. Would return at the drop of a hat.

Epernay, the heart of champagne, is all class. So is this hotel. Punching way above its weight, the Ibis Epernay just delivers big value.Rooms are all you need, breakfast fresh, but it’s the staff that shine. From reception, to the bar staff, to housekeeping, the whole crew a polite and professional. Clearly well managed, the Generation Manager should be rightfully proud of hid/her team.
