Lovely comfortable hotel. Pillows too hard. Staff very friendly and helpful. Coffee and tea facilities in room. A pity that we had to pay for coffee in reception area

Not being able to accommodate even the smallest late checkout for a mother traveling with a four-month-old baby when there is a storm outside, with the argument that they need all rooms ready by 14:00, one hour before check-in, is, to me, just rude and does not make any sense. Unless they have as many housekeepers as they have rooms and every room takes two hours to clean, that argument is just a sign of bad service and laziness. The hotel overall is okay, but regarding the cleanliness of the room, I cannot believe it would take two hours to clean; otherwise, the mold in the bathroom, for example, would not be there. I would advise the management in training for some of the staff in how to speak to guests and what terms to use. For example if a late check out would actually not be available for a real reason, there are many other ways of communicating this instead of making up bad excuses. As someone who works in the hotel industry, I know how much a late check out can mean to some guests and I also know that for a hotel like this it would be hard to find a situation where a later check out could not be accommodated.

Our special requests were dealt with promptly. The staff were very helpful and we really appreciated the elevator. We enjoyed our breakfasts at the hotel and were pleased to discover meals at the nearby brew pub. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean and well-appointed. The absolute best though was when we couldn’t get a taxi, reception called the hotel owner who drove us to our next destination - above and beyond good service!!

Mixed experience at this hotel but I can’t bring myself to give more than two stars. Let’s start with the good stuff. The staff spoke excellent English and the breakfast menu was also available in English which was appreciated. The room was well appointed with nice details, a clean bathroom too. Centralish location Now the bad (and sorry about this but I pride myself on being honest!) The parking by is at that station which is free and central and also not too far away but it is definitely not as easy as the hotel make out. They do mention they could help with your bags but lord knows how when there’s one receptionist. They ask you to LEAVE YOUR ROOM KEY THERE DURING THE DAY. They do not give a reason but insist upon it. During the day my room was cleaned ‘tidied really’ not cleaned but they left it unlocked afterwards. When I pointed this out they said ‘oh ok’ but offered not apology or explanation They were concerned however when I pointed out the bag of rubbish that was dumped int he corridor over night by house keeping (8pm-8am at least) The beds are VERY hard. The pillows are very big and gave everyone neck ache. Some showers only have one glass panel- watch what you leave where, your items will get wet! Breakfast service is pleasant but really very slow (up to a 45 min wait even though we’d booked a time a lot for a very simple dish). Breakfast is also in my experience expensive at €15 each. It’s an old building, full of pretty features but you can hear the activity from the room next door and a decent amount of road noise plus a lot of air in the pipes. Unfortunately we won’t be back.
