The Ocean Inn Antigua

Stayed at Ocean Inn preparing for the Caribbean 600 Yacht Race and immediately after; perfect choice. Rooms were simple but very comfortable with a good bed, effective Air Conditioning. Rooms were very clean and tended every day. The basic room shared a bathroom (as advertised) but this was no bother. Good Breakfast served each day with plenty of fresh fruit, fresh hard boiled eggs, pastries promptly from just after 7. Easy 10-15 min walk to Nelson's Dockyard. Well stocked honesty bar. Most of all though, Robert and Annie were lovely friendly hosts who were happy to help in any way needed - e.g. looked after excess luggage during race; organised late stay/shower. If I went again would look no further for accommodation.

My family and I stayed at Ocean Inn for 4 nights and thought the level of service provided by the host and staff was unlike ever experienced before. They all go above and beyond to meet your needs and requests and we really felt it was a perfect base to feel like home in Antigua. The property is located on a hill and there are several steps down to some of the rooms but if this is a struggle I’m sure the host would locate a room suitable for the needs. Breakfast was great, fresh and suited the needs of all of the family. The place has an authentic rustic feel and I would recommend to another couple.

The Ocean Inn and host, Robert Potter, are gems! Robert is friendly, always smiling and always available to help in any way guests need. His heartfelt warmth and laughter create a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. Breakfasts offer a variety of juices, yogurts, pastries, fresh fruit, hard boiled eggs and cereals. Robert went above and beyond the call of duty to purchase plain, Greek yogurt for my daily breakfasts. Additionally, there was an honor bar fully stocked with soft drinks, beer, liquor and ice. The views of English Harbour from our cottage porch, the dining area and the pool deck were spectacular! We never tired of it. The pool was medium-sized and always clean. The deck provided sun loungers and some shade under one giant umbrella. The garden was beautiful. The rooms were comfortable and cleaned daily. The air conditioning worked well and the TV offered Netflix, Prime and many other channels. Edgar, who works at the Inn, provided us with taxi service to town, beaches and Saint John's. Edgar was friendly, knowledgeable and a very careful driver! He was dependable and always on time. In short, The Ocean Inn and Robert Potter made this a wonderful vacation!

Robert could not have been more accommodating or friendly. The rooms are clean and the view is exquisite. They have a pool overlooking beautiful fruit trees, flowers, and all of English Harbour. They have a basic breakfast, small bar built around a tree, and are an easy walk (with hill) to all of the restaurants or either harbour. We loved it.

We stayed in the studio at The Ocean Inn, and we really enjoyed our stay! The location is absolutely fabulous! You absolutely cannot beat the view. The area is safe and walkable to restaurants, shops, Nelson’s Dockyard, English Habor, Falmouth Harbor etc. We walked to and from these places at night and felt totally comfortable. Breakfast was decent, the room was very comfortable and had all that we needed. The pool and deck are very lovely! But most of all, the owner Robert, is absolutely fabulous! He treated us like family, we could not have felt more at home there. He spent a lot of time telling us about the area, recommending places for us to visit, and answering our endless questions, he was always happy to be helpful! This is not a fancy all inclusive resort, but in my option, even better. You don’t get this kind of service and warmth anywhere else! It was just my husband and I traveling, but The Ocean Inn would be suitable for singles, couples, families or friends. If we go back to Antigua, we will 100% stay at The Ocean Inn again. Highly recommend!!

Ok, first the good things. The view is incredible from every room, food is great, service very good. The owner is a green, very helpful. And now, the not so good. We were in room 10 which is 11 flights of stairs downhill from the parking lot. There is no assistance with bags so you are on your own. Almost a heart attack for sure. There are also the typical Caribbean critters and definitely ants in the rooms. IMO this could be cleaner. The mosquitoes are brutal and no care is taken to eliminate them so you need to bring bug spray.
