The hotel is run down and in need of a refurbishment. The floors must also be quite thin as we could hear the room above us walking about quite heavily.

Very good clean condition polite and very friendly service

The hotel was as any other premiere inn comfy and as you’ll expect, the restaurant is closed during the day ,the restaurant staff are all lovely, so no lunch or any refreshments except a juice machine, reduced Menu and 4 staff, since premiere took it over.

Rooms were ok. Supplied a fan which was definitely needed. Food options next door very limited with over 3/4 of the menu not able to order. Parking no issue and location into Elgin pretty good. Check in very quick and efficient……………………………..

Tired, shabby and exterior was a disgrace. The only good thing about this was the very polite reception staff. The pub that served breakfast was filthy cold and uninviting. The exterior was awful too. Signage dirty and gardens unkept. Sad so sad.

First of all I must point out that the hotel itself is very good, I stayed for 4 nights and had no problems whatsoever. The big let down is the restaurant/pub. I booked the meal deal which was just as well as others were being turned away. An ongoing issue is that there seem to be almost no staff, on the first night one person was doing all the waiting at tables and manning the bar, he did very well. On the second night there was almost no food available, curries and pizzas only. The third night all was back on except curries! The final night all was well at last! A major disappointment was that there was almost no choice of beer, only 4 pumps remain, Moretti (ran out on the first night, not replaced), Guinness ( not working), Coors (yuk) and Madri. No scots beers at all ! I have used Premier Inn for over 25 years but I cannot think I will use them again, they appear to be rapidly declining (food shortages!) and management seem to be leaving their excellent staff to take the flak!

Couldn't fault the staff – Welcoming and Friendly. The rooms were OK, but need a bit of a refurbishment, beds are always a personal preference. We found them a bit hot. The fan in the bathroom didn’t work, apparently switched off because of the noise they make The ground floor corridor in the ‘Inn’ was long and a bit depressing, a bit draconian. Someone said like a barracks in one comment. Really needs better lighting and a fresh lick of paint to brighten up the very very long corridor. Even the outside, both the Inn and Restaurant could do with a refurb. The restaurant, well. Again, the staff were Welcoming and Friendly. When we booked, we thought the £10.99 for breakfast was a special off for pre-booking, when in fact it's the standard price. The breakfast over the 3 days wasn’t a great experience. The cold buffet selection: good & plenty to choose from – so no complaints there. The cooked buffet selection was either warm or look warm – not hot. They really need to look at how they keep things warm. So not a great breakfast experience. The menu states fried, scrambled, boiled or poached. I asked for a poached egg one morning, only to be told they were waiting for the equipment! Honestly a poached egg – boiling water and a pan.! Based on the experience we had with the breakfast, we’d give the breakfast a miss if we ever stayed there again. At night, we ate out twice in Elgin at 2 great local restaurants. We dined in one night so we could all have a drink – basic pub food. Next time, if we ever go again, it will be 3 nights out. The Outside of the restaurant, which was previously a brewers fayre, you can see the shadows of the logo on the outside of the building. Needs a refurb inside and out – it's clearly a ‘tired’ building needing a bit of TLC! The outside areas around the restaurant have clearly never been swept for ages, piles of leaves with rubbish lying in then leaves (plastic cartons and general rubbish) All this is a shame, given how welcoming, helpful and friendly the staff were. I think I’ll read the reviews the next time, before I booked at Elgin again Quite a few reviews around April/May 2025 with the same comments. Overall, a disappointing stay. I had a lovely stay! The room was spotless and well-maintained, providing a comfortable and relaxing environment. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, always ready to help with a smile. Breakfast was excellent with a great variety of tasty options to start the day right. Overall, it was fantastic value for money – I’d definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.

Stayed here with family. Bathroom was beyond disgusting. Roof was mouldy, tiles were mouldy and covered in limescale. Round the taps were filthy. We always stay at premier inns when away from home, will definitely not stay in this one again. Upon arrival had a rather rude member of staff tell us that early check in would be extra when it had already been paid. Didn’t apologise for her mistake when we pointed this out. Considering they were charging over £100 for the room as the festival was on, was a pretty poor show all round.

I was in room 106 and my son in 104 and suffered from the door at the top of the stairs banging constantly throughout the night. I asked to move but staff said the hotel was full. I managed to find alternative accommodation for us the final night so we checked out of both rooms a day early. Surely it isn’t impossible to have soft close doors?

Very nice and comfortable stay at the Premier Inn at Elgin. The staff were extremely friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. The staff made the stay even better. The hotel and rooms were very comfortable and clean, had everything that was needed. The bed was the highlight of the room, being so ridiculously comfortable. The rooms were also quiet. The car park feels safe and secure, and we were very comfortable leaving a hire car in it. The breakfast was really nice too. All in all, very happy with the price that we paid for the hotel and will return if we ever stay in Elgin again.

Stayed here at the weekend for my 40th, lovely hotel, easy to get to, all the staff were friendly and went above and beyond, they set the room up with buntin and balloons for me after my partner had reached out to them. This was lovely on entering the room, a really nice gesture, a birthday card chocolates and a beer or two was a brilliant touch. 5* guys can’t thank you enough. Had dinner in the restaurant on our first evening, everything was great and it certainly hit the spot after our 4hour drive. Staff were happy to seat us at 9pm too and the food was all perfect. Would highly recommend. We visited Prince Albert’s Cairn in Balmoral while staying here, well worth a visit if your in the area.

This is a great premier inn, the staff were very nice, the room was quite clean there was also a buffet for breakfast, in some premier inns you have to order food. If you're staying in Scotland I recommend you stay here. The dinner is also made from scratch and very fresh

Ok ive stayed at this hotel easily 20 times over the last 5-10 years. Its on the spiral down room I stayed in looks tired in need of care, not a refurbishment paint damaged carpets not hoovered dusting not great etc. The restaurant had a limited menu first two nights of my stay this time now its not even open at all for food! The restaurant used to have a playpark and an area where you could enjoy the picnic tables, looks like it needs a pressure wash its all weeds growing through the surface it just looks like no one cares. This morning woke up to no hot water spoke to reception they already knew and said it would be fixed today no apologies. Its just as I say seems like a lack of care and a spiral down. There is a lack of hotels locally so they will always get business. Always preferred premier to Travelodge but next time will head over to Travellodge as the standards are gone here.
