DoubleTree by Hilton LAX - El Segundo

We stayed for three days and two nights, but the cleaning lady didn't come to clean the room during our stay. The overall environment was OK, except that the bed sheets were a little dirty and there was makeup residue on the bath towels.

A very bad review! With so many hotels near the airport to choose from, don't choose this one! I read the reviews and realized this hotel might not have a scheduled shuttle bus and needed to call the hotel in advance. So I called the hotel that afternoon to confirm, and they told me to just wait there and a car would come, not that I could just call and pick them up. We arrived at the airport around 6:50 PM and waited at the hotel shuttle bus pick-up area. We'd waited there before at other hotels, and it usually arrived in 10-15 minutes. But we waited until almost 8 PM, almost an hour, and still no hotel shuttle showed up. We couldn't get through to a human operator by calling the hotel, and it kept getting bots. It was getting dark and freezing around 8 PM, so we had to call Ctrip for help. Thankfully, they responded promptly and contacted the hotel, saying they'd send a shuttle. I'd already considered canceling my reservation and asked Ctrip, but they said they couldn't cancel even if the hotel was already there. We waited another half hour in the freezing cold before the shuttle finally showed up. The one that did show up was completely different (see picture). There was no DoubleTree or Hilton sign on the bus. I saw El Segundo and asked the driver if we could go to DoubleTree. He said yes, and we ended up taking that bus to the hotel. A terrible experience. And that's only if your English is okay. If your English is weak, you'd be screwed. I don't recommend it.

Double tree's cookie courtesy, the shuttle was on time this time, and they also delivered a big box for me to receive. I asked the front desk to change a corner room for me, which is large and quiet, convenient for travel, and there is a target and trader joe next to it.

It was close to the airport and had a shuttle service, so it was easy to get around. Other than that, I didn't feel any major advantages, but overall, it wasn't bad.
