The Dukeries Lodge, Edwinstowe, Nottinghamshire

4 adult ladies visited on a Saturday lunchtime. All meals were lovely. I would recommend chip shop platter. Staff are really friendly and the decor is lovely in the main restaurant. This is our 4th visit and will definitely return again....

We booked a double room with en-suite around two months ago so that we could attend a family together in Edwinstowe. On arrival at check-in on Friday 25th July, we were told that the room was on the second floor (no lift), and that there was no en-suite but a bathroom at the end of the corridor! We complained that we believed we had booked a room with en-suite 2 months ago and were not at all happy about the idea of traipsing down a corridor in the middle of the night if needed! (We are both in our 70’s). The receptionist said that they had nothing else to offer us. We pointed out that we really should have been informed about this at the time of booking not on arrival. We would definitely have cancelled and gone elsewhere. We had no alternative but to accept but found it highly inconvenient. Later, around 6.30pm, we went to the restaurant. My husband chose three separate meals to be told each time that it was off the menu, in the end, he asked the waitress to tell him which meals they did have. We ate our meals and then ordered desert from the same waitress. Less than 2minutes later, she returned and handed us the bill! We explained that we had just ordered desert. “Oh, sorry, have you? Who took your order?” “You did!” We replied. She then told us they didn’t have that item. We ordered something else ate it and then settled the bill and returned to our room. Honestly, it was ridiculous!

Been here today spent nearly £80 on 3 meals and drinks, 2 meals spot on, last meal for price shocking, thought it was a kids meal!!after took bacon of the top you can see the size!!
