Grant Hills Motel

Stayed one night with two of my girlfriends in a room with three double beds. It was perfect for our needs. Friendly front desk, clean rooms that are "updated" considering it is an older motel. Liked parking directly in front of the room. About a 5 min drive to Main Street. We did schedule a pick up in the evening to take us to Main St and it cost us $5 each way per person. There was outside noise as we were facing the highway and there was a large group outside our window for awhile after a wedding but we turn up our sound machine to drown it out.

Perfect little motel off of 20, 1 mile outside of Galena mainstreet. Sherry* was amazing and moved our room to the back of the hotel because we had puppers. The firepit was nice on a cool night. The beds were comfy. The room was quaint. The pool is heated, as long as you don't mind the traffic it's perfect. We will absolutely stay here everytime we go to Galena.

My wife and I spent two nights here and can say there are positives and negatives about the hotel. Compared to other area hotels this was probably the most affordable which is a big part of why we chose it. The room and bathroom seemed clean as well. The bed was okay and there was a decent selection of channels available on the television BUT their WiFi is terrible. We had a room right up near the office and barely had any service and when I asked the lady at the front desk about it she said yes they know it is spotty and has issues but she didn't offer to help us at all. Another negative is the lack of receptacles in the room. You will have a tough time trying to charge your phone or laptop. Grant Hills motel could probably also qualify for the smallest bathroom in any hotel award. Small bathroom with an extremely small stand up shower. You also don't get any breakfast included with your stay. I honestly don't know if we would stay again if in the area as $150/night is too much for what you get.
