We have followed the building of this Net Zero hotel on the Exeter Science Park, Exeter, Devon, from the very beginning and were more than excited to be invited in for a tour recently. We had arranged to be met by Beth Ardron the Director of Sales and Marketing, which we did after sampling a bar lunch and drink. The host from the bar was Beaty who greeted us with a smile and warm friendly welcome. The bar food we had was delicious and plentiful. We instantly felt at home and even more so when joined by Beth. We were given all the data of this three week old hotel before having a personal tour around including viewing a ground floor bedroom. This project from start to finish is nothing short of outstanding in what the teams have achieved. We are very proud to live nearby and very much look forward to enjoying a meal in the restaurant. This must surely be the leading light in all future hotel projects.

Picked for the location only and as IHG members used points. £10 parking over night is a bit steep. Was given a great line speil about it's green credentials even though we arrived at nearly 11pm ... And just wanted to sleep! The only bit I listened to was the "to enhance our greenest , there are no tea/coffee facilities in the rooms, but you have stations for tea/coffee in the corridor" WHAT??? Such rubbish, you cutting costs, just be honest. You've put an iron in every room, who irons? That's a deal breaker for me. I don't want to get up, get dressed and wander along the corridor to make a simple cuppa. Everything else was fine, as it should be as it's new. I'm writing this review before my morning cuppa so that's probably why it's ABIT snarky.....

Now I must be honest and stay in picked this hotel due to location for a work trip, not because of its eco selling points which are somewhat lost on me. The bed and bedding are some of the comfiest I've ever experienced, coming from someone who stays in hotels weekly! Room was spotless and comfy, likely because it is all still new, intrigued to visit again in a few months and see if it is still as aesthetically pleasing. Shower great and really soft, fluffy towels. Why have I given 4 stars.... The coffee station set up, I am an early riser (530am) and the first thing I want is a brew, so my options are to get fully dressed to go out and make 20 steps to make a drink or risk going in my pjs and scaring all the other guests. I get why they have this set up but for me it just made me uncomfortable. The check in process isn't quick, lots of verbal instructions from the receptionist, when you've driven 5 hours to get here I sort of just wanted to crash and chill. Finally the parking charge, im travelling for work so the cost is covered but I wouldn't pay £15 to park here.... I checked in at 7pm and will be gone by 8am, £15 for 13 hours is OTT. Would i stay again, yes but bring a thermos to make a cup of tea before going to bed 🤣

What a refreshing change to hotel accommodation! Amazing that this hotel takes responsibility for it's carbon footprint. Inside is light, airy and full of plants which makes the whole environment feel healthier. The room was very comfortable and food remarkably good. Some great sustainability innovation here that other hotels could learn from. Would definitely recommend.

Brilliant stay- perfect location for our weekend at the Track. Slept really well- rooms big and comfortable with all the amenities that you would need Beautiful hotel really clean Food from the restaurant is the best I’ve ever had at a hotel!! You can tell the food is fresh. Breakfast also great we took a go bag and these strawberries croissants!! My husband was intrigued and loved them. Staff are very welcoming and friendly

Fully recommend a stay at this hotel staff are friendly and helpful especially the receptionist a good location for a trip to the beach and to get into the city centre it has a lovely outside area and plenty of parking. Lots of choice for breakfast and the staff are helpful and friendly.

I cannot recommend this hotel enough! We stayed for 2 nights and it was fantastic! The hotel staff were absolutely amazing and so friendly. They often went above what was asked for. The hotel itself is beautiful and loved it being net zero. The food was absolutely delicious, there was so much choice for breakfast and all freshly made. An overall amazing stay. Can’t wait to come back again soon!

My new favourite hotel in Devon. This hotel is beautiful, I stayed on a business trip, it’s outside Exeter, which is ideal if you don’t want to deal with the traffic! Loads of parking on site. The bedding is probably the best I’ve had at a UK hotel, the pillows were amazing! The hotel is all about satiability and the staff were very knowledgeable on the efforts that have been made. The Devon take on jam & cream cookie on arrival was a nice touch. Can’t wait to visit again soon.

Lovely hotel. Very new. Only criticism is loud music all night which apparently for some bizarre reason was playing on the terrace (could hear it at 3am) and lack of coffee facilities in the room. Had to go to a “coffee station” which some previous guest had trashed (cider bottle and hot chocolate sprinkled everywhere) that’s where I would prefer something in my too. I understand this is a eco warrior hippie hotel but overall a pretty good experience. Was funny at dinner time a business man came down for dinner in a nice suit followed by some bloke in T-short and shorts and flip flops like he’d just got off the beach. Very strange. Also the 2 girls on reception as nice as they were did go on a bit. They was a massive que of people and each person had to listen to some spiel about the hotel etc etc. could get everyone else was getting frustrated.
