Every little detail of the Voco Zeal Exeter Science Park was perfection. Fabulous service, stunning (clean, scandi-looking) interior styling, numerous EV chargers (all of which were working – shocker!), HUGE comfy bed, beautiful room, Softest. Towels, Ever. Oh, and did I forget to mention IT’S CARBON NEUTRAL. Not greenwash offsetting but properly thought out, recycled concrete foundations through to compostable staff uniforms. I could not have loved it more. EVERY hotel – or hotel chain – should be learning from Voco Zeal.

We have followed the building of this Net Zero hotel on the Exeter Science Park, Exeter, Devon, from the very beginning and were more than excited to be invited in for a tour recently. We had arranged to be met by Beth Ardron the Director of Sales and Marketing, which we did after sampling a bar lunch and drink. The host from the bar was Beaty who greeted us with a smile and warm friendly welcome. The bar food we had was delicious and plentiful. We instantly felt at home and even more so when joined by Beth. We were given all the data of this three week old hotel before having a personal tour around including viewing a ground floor bedroom. This project from start to finish is nothing short of outstanding in what the teams have achieved. We are very proud to live nearby and very much look forward to enjoying a meal in the restaurant. This must surely be the leading light in all future hotel projects.

This is a superb hotel. Clean and modern and I loved how everything is sustainable, the furniture and design is natural and the interior is calming. Staff are excellent, shout out to Lewis who was super helpful and rightly proud of the hotel concept and brand. Rooms are good, very comfy beds and duvets. Ventilation good, sound proofed and liked the concept of reducing plastic by having drinks stations on the corridors instead of in rooms. Simple but effective. Breakfast was a good selection, plentiful and freshly cooked using local suppliers ..sausages recommended! ) I would 100% recommend and will return.

Stayed for one night, as we were stopping over to see family. The check-in was very friendly and efficient and seemed to be proud to work there, offering up details of the ways the hotel is eco friendly. When we enquired more we were told that there are plaques dotted around the hotel explaining different aspects of this. The room was an adequate size and spotless!! The bed was really comfy, and had the best nights sleep. The drinks facilities is a station in the corridor, which was explained due to the fact so many kettles end up in landfill and the walk wasn’t that far even though we were at the end of the corridor. Overall it was a welcoming comfy and cosy stay and would definitely go back. On a side note was really impressed with how much energy they create via solar panels.

This was a stop point for us from London to Cornwall. Parking was easy - lots of it with charging points. Check-in was straightforward. The hotel is spacious, clean, calm and modern. The outdoor space is beautiful with great views of the countryside. Lots of nearby restaurants/pubs. We didn’t eat in the hotel restaurant, but it looked clean and nice. The rooms are what we needed them to be - everything you’d want for a short break. The tea and coffee facilities are based on each floor and not in your room for eco friendly purposes. We’d like to give a special thanks to Maria at reception on our checkout. She was so friendly and professional. It was so refreshing to come someone who takes such pride in their job. A real credit to the hotel!

Fabulous evening outside on the terrace with friends, in the sunshine and with music and DJ, giving a great vibe amongst the guests. Hospitality was super friendly, amazing cocktails and everywhere had a very cool vibe - great evening and look forward to coming back! Lovely modern hotel, love that they are trying to make everything sustainable and all the staff were very welcoming and free parking for the evening (but must log in).
