I had one of the worst experiences during my recent stay at this property. In the evening, I tried ordering a hot beverage, only to discover that the “4” button on the in-room phone—needed to reach Room Service—was non-functional. I then contacted the reception, where a polite lady assured me that someone from the kitchen would call me within 2 minutes. No one did. I had to follow up twice and eventually go downstairs myself just to order tea. But the real shock came at around 11:30 PM when another guest entered my room using a key card. I was absolutely stunned. I had checked in much earlier and was assigned that room—how could this even happen? I informed the reception immediately. Not only was there no apology or sense of urgency, but the staff also treated the whole incident far too casually. This is a gross breach of guest security and completely unacceptable. If a woman had been staying alone in that room, the consequences could have been incredibly distressing. The lack of professionalism, safety, and basic courtesy from the hotel staff was appalling. Despite the glowing ratings from other guests, my experience at Peerless Hotel – Durgapur was overwhelmingly negative. I sincerely hope the management takes guest services and convenience more seriously going forward.
