Waterfront Hotel Dungloe

Lovely friendly hotel comfortable rooms nice bar and great food we had a fabulous dinner and breakfast and even had lunch before we left Would recommend it Lovely views and peaceful setting

Recently visited for a wedding with family. Food was awful , didn’t receive the main course till 9:45pm !! And when we did the roast beef was grey ! Deserts were still frozen ! We were all sick the next day (including those who do not drink)and a few friends were sick that night ! Wine was also terrible !

Booked Sunday lunch x 5. Seated straight away sat 15 minutes before order taken had to ask could we order drinks. Sat another 15 minutes before I had to proceed to bar to ask where were the drinks. Food finally arrived was nice but service very poor. Plenty of staff but spent most of their time walking around clueless.

The hotel was clean, quiet, well located, had a good bar and excellent restaurant. The menu was a little short if youre stsying more than a few days but what I had was great. I wish they'd get the lift company back to swap the buttons. Surely having 0, 1, M, 2 isnt impossible rather than having 0, 1, 2 ,3 which the second floor being on 3!!

Arrived at reception bar not overly busy few tables available.. was shown across to the restaurant we were so excited as we normally are seated in bar area which we love ..but what a huge disappointment..unimpressive.. poor lighting, poor inexperienced staff not blaming the young staff to be honest..but this is totally unacceptable no connection with guests at all ..our child even copped that we were being talked about by the staff nearby at the till area as they could see the delay we were experiencing that our meals were so delayed.. absolutely no sign of any management.at all young spanish man said he was new and he was trying hard to cover up for senior managements failures . meals arrived chicken curry had actually 5 little pieces of chicken for €21 with chips ?? .curry was so liquidy watery the rest of our meals were actually cold !! We had to send back to get reheated so then the steak was very much overdone by microwave then .. Always loved our visits to here but unfortunately this was such a lmassive et down on this occasion.. not one person checked on our table at any time no ketchup for kids in condiments either so couldn't be bothered in chasing this shortfall, expensive day out for such a poor experience will definitely not be returning soon which is so sad as we always loved coming to this hotel and enjoyed our experiences previously..we paid in full and left very unimpressed.

We visited Dungloe for the festival parade & looked to get some food after a really lovely parade. This hotel was recommended to us. However when we arrived we were told there was no availability. Yes it was obviously busy but surely it would have made sense to have a carvery on given the day that it was. As the only hotel in the town it should have known there would be a lot of people about. They have a ballroom that could have been laid out with tables. Very disappointing support to the festival & visitors
