The room is clean and tidy. The hotel atmosphere is good. There will be a group of people chatting, singing and eating together in the evening. The location is convenient. It is about 20 minutes' walk from the nearest supermarket.

Great cozy little place in Dunedin. Clean and well taken cared of.
Pro : Big kitchen, free breakfast , towels in the bathroom
Con : no locks or key for the door so no safety for your things just be aware:)

Terrible customer service!!!! Stayed at Manor House Backpackers on 16-18 November. Upon check in staff made a mistake and I was doubled charged for my stay. I got in touch with the staff multiple times over the last month and I was promised that I will get a refund and a screenshot with the confirmation of payment as soon as possible. I still have not received either a refund or a confirmation.

Walked in. People drinking outside playing music. Smelt like pot. Waited 10 minutes to check in. Some absolute characters walking around. Room was terrible, smelt horrible. Only a bottom sheet and a duvet that I doubt was washed. No key to the room. I’d best describe as a homeless shelter. We left straight away and booked somewhere else.

Met with friends who were staying there. The place does not appear clean and some of the permanent residents are off putting. There is a smell when you arrive in the front foyer. The building is dated and dark.
