Apartments Sweet Escape

Excellent Apartment, clean, all new equipments and furniture, very warm welcome and kind host. Managable walk to the old town. You will feel like home!! Really loved our stay here😊

We had a wonderful stay in these sweet apartments, which are walking distance to the old city, in a quieter part of town. The apartment is well equipped and very comfortable, and benefits from a secure parking space and a shared outdoor area with chairs, tables and parasols. The host, a retired marine engineer, is extremely kind and attentive, and enjoys sharing his historical knowledge and local tips. He went above and beyond to help us to finally recover a phone dropped in a taxi in town. We are very grateful and hope to come back again soon to this sweet apartment and this beautiful city.

This is one that I should have written a review of more than a year ago, and only recently realized that I never did. This was a fantastic place though, and deserves endless 5 star reviews. We were there in the winter so it was slow tourist season. We made our reservation at the last minute just a few hours before we arrived. The owner, Zed, sent us a message asking for our arrival time. We told him 8:00pm and got there right around 8. He was waiting for us outside and got us checked in really quickly. Then he told us that any restaurant that was open would be closing at 9, so he told us to hop into his car and he'll drive us to one. We were so surprised at that kind of hospitality! He recommended a particular restaurant and gave us a coupon for it. He dropped us off right outside the gates of Old Town, then gave us directions for us to walk back. His recommendation was fantastic (Restaurant Arsenal). The apartment was really nice, spacious and clean, and the bed was super comfortable. There was even a small bottle of homemade cherry brandy in it for us. Zed told us that his wife had made it. Apparently the type of cherry that was used is native to that area, and it was delicious! When we were there they were still requiring COVID tests to enter Bosnia and Herzegovina, and because the next stop on our trip was across the border, Zed helped us find a testing place . He even drove us to the testing location and waited for us while we ran in. Overall, the room was wonderful and the hospitality provided here was exceptional. Also, if you have a car, we were able to park ours on the property. We really felt welcomed and at home and were honestly a little sad to say goodbye at the end of our stay. I would absolutely recommended staying here in you're going to be in Dubrovnik. It's a little bit outside of Old Town, but its still walkable. Maybe a 15-20 minute walk? Just be aware that walking back involves a LOT of stairs. I'd love to go back to Dubrovnik again one day and Apartments Sweet Escape will be our #1 choice of a place to stay.
