1 Logis à Domme - Piscine & Spa

There are few places that can compare to the lovely boutique hotel 1 Logis a Domme. Truly everything is perfect! Spacious rooms with beautiful art and antiques. Glorious garden with tables set up along a terrace overlooking the Dordogne River valley. Delicious and beautifully presented breakfasts. 3 adorable dogs and a cat to greet your arrival. And the hosts, Helene and Francois, always friendly and warm while offering suggestions for local restaurants and adventures. All this located in the charming hilltop town of Domme. We are so lucky to have stayed here for 3 nights. Thank you.

Delightful B&B in the beautiful village of Domme. Hélène and François are the perfect hosts. We received a warm welcome and felt relaxed and comfortable throughout our stay. The room was lovely and the bathroom stylish and modern. The fresh flowers in the room were delightful. We enjoyed having the wonderful garden with stunning views and a swimming pool. We looked forward to the delicious breakfasts in the garden especially the homemade jam, pancakes and yogurt. There are several excellent restaurants within walking distance . Having designated parking places is a great advantage. We hope to return very soon.

My wife and I spent 7 nights at 1 logis à Domme, using the hotel as a base for exploring the Dordogne. It's not an exaggeration to say that this was one of the most delightful places we've stayed anywhere in the world. Our room was just off the beautiful garden. Both room and garden had breathtaking views. The room was huge, with a king bed and fireplace. The room was elegantly decorated in an eclectic Asian motif. The ample bathroom had both tub and shower and two sinks. The pool and spa were relaxing after days of walking and driving. It was difficult to choose a spot to read or have a drink: the palatial room; the lovely garden, carefully tended by Hélène; or the cozy library, stocked with an inviting book collection. Hélène and François were the most gracious hosts imaginable, attentive but not overbearing. They served a delicious and elegantly presented breakfast. They had recommendations for every request, whether for restaurants, walks (with maps), sites to visit, or auto mechanics. Their three affectionate dogs were adorable. We were sad to leave, feeling that we were just starting to get to know Hélène and François. We'll just have to return.

What a find! I am afraid that I am going to repeat much of thee previous reviews for this property - perhaps I should just say "ditto" and leave it at that? The property is lovely, golden stone on the outside and elegantly (without being over the top) furnished and decorated internally. It is in a great location just inside the Porte del Bos gate and a pleasant 5 minute stroll up the hill to the square and view point. Francois and Helene were warm and friendly hosts who got the balance just right between being attentive and available but not overwhelming. We had Chambre 4 which was a very nice split level room with a lounge area and bathroom downstairs (with fridge and coffee facilities) and a lovely bedroom upstairs with a huge bed, sloping ceiling and a handy loo and wash basin. The room was wonderfully quiet and peaceful. Breakfasts were very good - we particularly enjoyed the yoghurt and raspberries with a pinch of sugar - including pastries, bread, eggs, ham, cheese and little pancakes all served in the gorgeous garden (or if the weather is not so good, in the sun room). I fell in love with the owners' dogs who were incredibly friendly and irresistibly cute. The pool and hot tub are a real bonus - particularly with the astonishing views over the surrounding countryside. Domme, as beautiful a place as it is (and it is) was a little too quiet as a base even for us. There are a handful of restaurants but choice is limited, especially if you don't eat fois gras or duck but we had a very nice meal at Comptoir D'Annam (Vietnamese food) and an ok meal at Cabannoix et Chataigne (possibly just a poor choice of food). There are some very good restaurants not too far away in La Roque Gageac which would be a 5-10 minute drive but as I like a glass of wine with dinner we didn't visit these. All in all, I can't recommend 1 Logis a domme highly enough. If it were in a villagewith a bit more going on we would definitely be returning.

In an idyllic, peaceful setting, this boutique hotel had a very pretty garden with far reaching panoramic views across the valley. Charming, helpful hosts made us feel at home with them, their three friendly little dogs, and cat roaming the garden. The excellent wifi signal extends all the way to the pool; but with the pool and whirlpool designed for relaxation you shouldn’t need it here. There is a cosy sitting room guests can use, but with the summer heat the garden and pool were more tempting. Breakfast is superb with fresh quality produce, attentively served by François. Indeed there is loving attention to detail everywhere in the decor and comfort. Everything is quality from the coffee pot at breakfast, to the tasteful wallpaper and decor, to the toilet paper. Importantly, the bed was a supering size and very comfortable. Air conditioning was effective and both a safe and a fridge in the room added to the convenience. Guests are invited to make themselves picnics in the garden and the host will provide plates and cutlery - so welcoming, in a gentle way. As we had arrived at the airfield in a small plane François kindly collected us and brought us back again after our stay. The only negative was leaving.
