Borthwen B&B

A stunning location from our bedroom we had a stunning view of a sunset over Cader idris. The B & B is a short walk to Dolgellau town centre, The hosts Colin and Lisa were very attentive and the breakfast was lovely. The room and B and B was spotlessly clean a thoroughly enjoyable stay.

We stayed here over a long weekend at the end of June, beginning of July as part of a group of 4 couples staying for a motorcycle mini-break. Our 4 couples (8 guests) appeared to be maximum occupany for our hosts and so we were giving them a busy weekend (especially the poached eggs order at breakfast!) Location. Just a genuine short 5-minute walk to the town centre, but still placed perfectly on the hillside to give you stunning views whilst enjoying breakfast. Accommodation. Our room was a twin single and the other guests in doubles. Our room was spacious, had a nice ensuite with large shower, pleasant smelling shampoo & shower gel etc. A kettle with tea & coffee was a nice little addition to the room for a morning cuppa. Hosts / Food. Despite a large order for poached eggs (sorry) our breakfast was prepared each morning with all of us eating together without issue. Plenty on the menu and all delicious - ready to fill our bellies for a day on the bikes. We were also given use of the large garage to store our bikes, which was much appreciated in the typically wet British summer! Overall. 5 / 5. Lovely setting. Lovely accommodation at a reasonable price. Fantastic views whilst enjoying breakfast and really friendly & helpful hosts. Thank you. Would definitely stay again.

Wonderful place with gorgeous views. Very easy check-in. Excellent breakfast each morning. The hosts are highly attentive and very friendly. Within easy reach of the town. Can highly recommend and will definitely be back. Edrych ymlaen at y tro nesaf!

The reviews speak for themselves. You cannot fault this stunning B and B. The whole place is beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean and lots of little finishing touches that make you feel very welcome and valued, such as the large umbrellas, tissues, two chairs in the bedroom. The extra lightweight fleece blanket in the bedroom was much appreciated in place of the duvet on a warm night. The breakfast was the best we’ve ever had and we’ve stayed at many hotels across the UK. Served hot and fresh and very tasty. The views are breathtaking. The hosts are lovely and welcoming. I don’t think anyone could find fault with this experience. You won’t be disappointed.

This is one of the very best B&Bs. In a lovely position looking over the town of Dolgellau and surrounding mountains and hills but just a few minutes walk into town. Colin and Lisa are the very best of hosts with nothing being too much trouble. The rooms are excellent with all necessary facilities and spotlessly clean. Breakfasts are great and all freshly cooked. The terrace is the ideal place to sit and take in the views. Our third visit and will definitely not be our last. Can't wait to go back!

Fabulous B&B. Lovely room - comfortable, spotlessly clean, spacious. Excellent breakfast & great location. Was able to leave car in car park & walk into town to eat. Colin & Lisa were brilliant hosts - have already booked another stay.
